I was going through raloria's Ultimate Jensen in Dark Angel picspam here when it suddenly kind of occured to me. With young Dean looking like this in his early twenties,



and young Sam in his late teens looking like this,



John Winchester certainly had a handful in his hands!

I don't read many teen!Dean and teen!Sam fics, but the few I do, this is exactly how I'm gonna picture them! Thank you. =p

You know, Brock Kelly looked kinda okay without the slicked back hair and all, but he looked all wrong when made up to look like Dean. I thought they were trying too hard and in doing so, they had somehow missed the mark. I fast-forwarded his scenes when I re-watched that episode, same way I fast-forwarded a certain dark-haired, she-demon's scenes.

Actually my problem with Broc Kelly isn't his look per se. I just think he doesn't have the chops to bring out Dean's vulnerability. As such, teen!Dean on screen felt flat to me. Jensen on the other hand, even back when he was in his DA days, he was such a subtle and layered actor, his Alec was much more than a womenizing pretty face with an attitude. (I recently watched "The Berrisford Agenda" with commentary turned on. I couldn't help smirking when the producer and writer keep praising Jensen's acting prowess) *g*

I confess teen!Dean and teen!Sam fics feel a bit too teeny to me. Hence I don't read many of those. Although one of my favorite SPN fic is a pre-series gen fic called Cliffhanger by Merisha. Have you read that one yet? Dean is 22 and Sam is 17 years old. I feel like rereading it again with the images of the boys you provided her! =p

I don't have a problem reading teen!chesters. Some of my favourite fics are pre-series, mostly gen ( real tear-jerkers, a number of them ), but quite a few of them are wincests. I do draw a line on Sam being any younger than 16, and I prefer Sam to be the one "initiating", because Dean as the big brother doing that feels a bit like molesting/taking advantage to me.

No, I haven't read that fic yet. Am bookmarking it!

I hear you regarding teen!Wincest stories! I prefer my wincest stories where both boys are adults, experienced and capable of making a choice.

You gotta read Cliffhanger though. I highly recommend it. It's intensely angsty. Here's a little spoiler: in it, poor John had to make a choice at one point no father should ever forced to make. All in all, my heart just bleeds for Dean! I chanced upon this fic when I first got into the SPN fandom. No matter how many time I re-read it, I still get swept away by the story.

I know canon-wise that young Dean was supposed to look like he did in ASS but, no offence to Brock Kelly, that was so not my Dean.

I remember reading a fic somewhere in which John got Dean to have that butch haircut because he was attracting too much unwanted attention!

And I can also easily picture young!Sam having a crush on his brother!! :))

I kinda always thought that Brock!Dean was Ridge!Dean grown up, but Dean in S1 was more like Alec. I mean, he couldn't have just developed that playfulness after he got out of high school, right? Not to be disrespectful to Ridge or Brock or anything...
