"You vet all his friends?" Sam colored. "No. Just you."

"Wait. Just...give him a second. He needs to put eyes on us first." Sam licked his lips. "Don't move too quickly. And for Christ's sakes, don't touch me."

Just when you thought that the story couldn't get any more awesome.

But of course! Oh Dian, the story is soooooo good. You could start reading now you know, as each chapter is like a stand-alone, meaning that there's no cliffhanger at the end.

It's more like their life journeys, from when they were small, looked after by a foster mum ( John's in prison ) to when they're adults - Dean in the marines, Sam studying law. It's truly a great story.

A number of the marines in the mini series Generation Kill are VERY pretty!! Not as pretty as Dean though :DD

Oh you've seen GK? I've seen 2 episodes so far. It's a bit depressing and I would probably have stopped watching it if not for Alexander Skaarsgard. And also because of the SPN/GK crossovers.

Yes, I watched it. At the cable. We already watched the whole series. I did it because my bro told me. That's his favorite.

And, it's different from any war movies I ever watched before. From the marines' POV this war is a bit boring sometimes.

Speaking of Skaarsgard, I read he was once a marine in his country, Sweden. That's why he looks so natural playing in this mini.

Mmmmm, I've yet to read the story. It's SPN au, huh? I don't normally read stories where they aren't these screwed up brothers/hunters. Tell me a little bit more about the fic. Is there angst? h/c? protective!Sam?... =p

Yes, it's AU, but it's still them ie they're still very much obssessed with each other. The boys grew up in foster homes when John was taken in for alleged homicide. It chronicles their lives from when Dean was 5 to 18-yr-old Dean enlisting in the marines to Dean with post-war PTSD. Sam's the protected little brother who grew up to study law, joining in the anti-war protests while Dean's doing his tour of duty. He in turn became the protector to a Dean severely wounded in the war. H/c and angst by the bucketful, this story is epic

Do give the prologue a try ( I was hooked right from the first para! ). You can always stop reading if you didn't like it :)

Lord, you sold me this right then and there! One last question before I embark on the journey, although the answer won't deter me one way or another, I just want to be prepared: when you said Dean is severely wounded in the war, do you mean he's disfigured and/or permanently disabled in any way (yes, I'm shallow).

Oh no, no disfigurement. None that you can see, anyway. But he was fucked-up all the same, a real mess. Borderline mental derangement with partial deafness.

I'm thinking they'll be delving more into SPN canon in the next chapter. Just my impression, I could be wrong.

The summaries could be somewhat off-putting I guess, esp if you were not into the GK stuff, but this is all about them really. Plenty of outside POVs which are excellently done ( I love outside POVs! ), and incredible writing. Easily one of the author's best stuffs!
