I thought he was going to say yes too! But ... if it meant Michael killing Lucifer in Sam's body, I don't think Dean would ever, ever do that. I mean, what's the point of saying yes to Michael to save Sam when Michael's going to kill Lucifer in Sam anyway? My head is spinning!!
The only way Dean would say yes to Michael now ( IMO ) is for Sam to say yes to Lucifer first. The thing is, would Sam do that? Say yes to Lucifer I mean.
I don't know. He said no to Famine when he had to still be hurting for the demon blood. Maybe it's a test that the angels failed but God is hoping his humans will pass. Since Michael did what he did with Lucifer.
I'm sure Kripke has some tricks hidden way up those sleeves.

And it has just occured to me. Dean's amulet was initially meant for John, wasn't it? And Castiel said he needed it to find God ...
Though you know, as much as I want John back on the show ( real-time John this time, not past!John ), I have reservations about him coming back as God.
Oh yes, I agree with you, very much so. It's not often that we see him without that wall around him, his defenses all but stripped down. The raw, naked Dean is ... oh, I have no word to properly describe him!
And also, I love how Castiel was there, hovering-like around Dean. Dean's very own guardian angel!
