'The Wolfman' - Amazing, A++++ performance by everyone in it - from Benicio Del Toro to Anthony Hopkins to Hugo Weaving, and Emily Blunt too. I want to watch it again, not so much for the story per se, which is dark and gory ( very! ) but for the very fine acting that made me go guh. Edge-of-the-seat suspense!

The same can't be said for 'Percy Jackson' though. I was bored senseless throughout the whole movie though the kids enjoyed it well enough. The soul highlight for me was finding out that Jake Abel was in it. That kid was tall! He looked small in 'Jump The Shark' but I guess everyone would look small standing beside Jared and Jensen!

I was wondering about The Wolfman. I like all the actors in it. I will try to see it in the theater, maybe on Tuesday.

Brace yourself for a lot of blood! But blood aside, I think it was a good movie, and I've always love that era ( Victorian I mean ).

Oh, really? I was going to take Ezri to see Percy Jackson today. Hmmm... maybe we'll just stay home and watch movies on pay per view instead.

Oh Ezri will probably like it. My kids did, and judging from the cheers and claps, so did the rest of the kids at the theatre!

Really? I had heard the exact opposite! Hubby wants to watch Wolfman, but I was uncertain since I'd heard quite a lot of people complaining about how much it sucked. But hey, I trust your judgment, maybe we'll have that movie date this week. :)

And aww, Percy Jackson is boring? I kinda really want to watch that! Oh well, I'll just wait for the DVD then. :D

My kids were estatic about Percy and they were quite annoyed with me for saying that it was boring because they loved it! So, IDK, I guess some people will find it entertaining ...

The Wolfman, on the other hand, is awesomely dark and chilling and gory but again, some people would probably find it predictable. I mean, what else can you do with the topic of werewolf?

I want to see both of those movies! ^^
I have seen movies lately though, so they might have to wait.

I have heard of Percy Jackson plot not coming off well in the movie (but it is a small kids book, which got rave reviews) I just wanted to see it for a little more light heartedness and for a few of the actors in slightly different roles than usual (six actors I think...). Maybe only for Melina Kanakaredes actually being a Goddess!

Oh the actors are most of them A-listers! I mean, there's Pierce Brosnan and Uma Thurman and Sean Bean and Rosario Dawson, and CSI!Stella of course, and I only knew that it was based on a kids' book after watching it. I think if I knew that beforehand, I would probably have gone in with a different set of expectations. As it was, I was disappointed :/

Yep, all those stars. But of course stars can't really outshine what is only a semi-good plot...most of the time. ;)

Also Steve Coogan and Kevin McKidd -who is in Greys Anatomy even though I don't really follow Greys much- but I'd seen the opening of the first "lightning" billboard for the movie and he was interviewed and I found out he was playing Poseidon and thought he'd be awesome as that!

Yeah, I understand going with different expectations. That's annoying sometimes. :/

I've this habit of knowing only the bare minimum about the movies I'm seeing. All I knew about it was that it had a lot of awesome stars in it and it had something to do with Percy being the son of a Greek God. I had no idea it was based on a children's book. Maybe if I had known what to expect I would have enjoyed it more!
