In Reverse revisited

Been re-reading this old favourite of mine for the past couple of days and I had tears in my eyes at how good it was between them before season 4. Those moments that they had in this story made me think of all their moments in the show - Dean getting Sam from Palo Alto, because he didn't want to do it alone, Dean freaking out when the hillbillies got Sam, Sam at his wits end when Dean was at death's door in Faith - God, how I missed them!

This fic probably had been read by almost everyone in the SPN fandom, but in case you haven't, sodakey's In Reverse is a must-read. It's Sam and Dean and their love and protectiveness and their co-dependency, a fantastic casefic and how others see them, in this particular case, Sam's old friends from Stanford, all these and more, rolled into one incredibly and amazingly written story.

And with the memory of how it used to be between them solidly behind me, I think I can probably take whatever it is that they're going dish out to us this coming finale.

I know, right? That's what I do when I feel the need to feel the brotherly love. I'd read the older fics, and I'm planning to watch seasons 1 to 3 after the finale, with a few selected eps from s4 and s5.
