TV this and that.
Jul. 14th, 2010 12:56 pmBones S3. I finally found out what happened to Zack (
dev_earl! ) What a shitty, shitty way to get rid of a character. I'd rather have a character killed off than that. Ugh.
Leverage S2. I haven't been following that for quite some time but I caught an episode last week, and I was like, Where's Sophie???? What happened to her? I like her! But she was there in the finale last night so I presume she's back in season 3? I hope so anyway!
And TWIN PEAKS!!! I love that show. I used to be obsessed by it the way I'm obsessed with Supernatural now. Watching it again brought back fond memories of those days of counting the days until Thursday. I was in uni back then, and we'd crowd into my friend's room, watching it from her small TV, or down at the lounge, ooh-ing and aah-ing as the story unfolded.
Good times ... *is nostalgic*
And even after all these years, Twin Peaks still manages to impress me. That haunting theme music omg!
Any fans of Twin Peaks here? Who were your favourite characters? What scene(s) would always be embedded in your mind?
I adored Donna Heyward. I shipped her and James like crazy. And I had a thing for Donna/Agent Cooper as well, but I think that was more because of Lara Fynn Boyle having a RL relationship with Kyle McLachlan then. But Donna/James omg!! Even now I still go weak-kneed to see them together.
And the one image that would always be crystal clear in my mind.

If you haven't watch the series, WATCH IT!!

Date: 2010-07-14 05:43 am (UTC)I'm currently watching season 4, and I can't wait for season 6 to begin!
I can't quite remember how Twin Peaks ended so re-watching it almost feels like watching it all anew. But it feels so good to see certain favourite scenes all over again! Guh, Lara Flynn Boyle was sooo pretty back then, and she had meat on her body :)

Date: 2010-07-14 05:53 am (UTC)And I agree what you said about Lara Flynn Boyle.

Date: 2010-07-14 09:20 am (UTC)Don't think I can pick one fav character. I did love Agent cooper. Adored the sheriff. He was just SO... normal compaired to... well everybody. *lol*
Oh. Blueberry pie!!! The pine trees. And definitely the music! Yeah, really loved that show. I can't remember the ending either though. Geez!
So yeah, my memory is hazy now but way back then I even entered a competition in a newspaper. I won. Prize a radio! :D
Like Bones a lot too. It may be next on my list of TV shows to get.

Date: 2010-07-15 02:23 am (UTC)We had a tie-in competition, too! The show was sponsored by Benson & Hedges and there were all sorts of fantastic prizes but I didn't win anything unfortunately. Does your radio still work? Does it have Twin Peaks inscribed on it?
I've downloaded 24 season 1 but I haven't watched it yet. I know that once I start watching I won't be able to watch anything else and I need to watch Bones Season 4 and Twin Peaks now. God, my life is so wrapped around TV shows, I'm sure it's not that healthy!

Date: 2010-07-15 07:04 am (UTC)Actually, I think all TV shows tends to get too... stretched/over the top... if the show lasts long. It's just, you never want a fav show to end no matter what!
Nah, that radio is long gone and it was an ordinary little radio. No logo or anything. :(
Let me know when you get to 24. I think you'll find it's different and yet just the same.
How many seasons exist on Bones btw? 6? I think we're at 6. Watching the re runs on TV now, S2... or maybe it's S3. Zack is still there anyway.
Since I got in to that 24 marathon I did last year I've been going over one or two TV shows one at the time, from start to finish on DVD. Marathon watching is fun! But no. probably not very healthy. *grins*

Date: 2010-07-15 07:10 am (UTC)*sighs* How I wish that you could get into SPN ... Which season was it, the one that you said you tried to watch but couldn't manage to get into?
no subject
Date: 2010-07-15 07:49 am (UTC)It was season 1. To be honest I guess I never really gave it a chance. I mean, it takes more than a couple of episodes to get truly into things doesn't it? And I watched maybe er, two. Maybe I was in a wrong mood or something?
Hmmm. Maybe my next TV show should be SPN then. Bones can wait cause I've already seen it. Maybe I should just try anew... Vacation is comming up after all and I'm sure the rain will follow as usual. I'd need something to watch as summer TV is a big nothing.

Date: 2010-07-15 09:00 am (UTC)I love SG1 for example and you really see a huge difference between the earlier and lasts seasons how they got better at the effects. But my fav will always be the earlier ones.
Sci-fi and similar shows always gets lower budgets on TV.

Date: 2010-07-15 11:31 pm (UTC)It's good to see Jack Bauer so much younger, and so much softer around the edges. And I'm thinking that Mrs Jack is going to die soon since she's not mentioned at all in S5 and S8!

I'm enjoying watching the Bones reruns on Fox! Also, are you looking forward to the CSI trilogy as I am? Or have you watched it already? LOL
no subject
Date: 2010-07-15 02:30 am (UTC)Argh, don't tempt me to download Leverage season 3! Though I am very curious as to how Nate's going to get out of that one.
When is the CSI trilogy? I saw the trailer but haven't been paying attention. I love CSI:NY but no so much the other 2. Is the trilogy going to be a back to back Vegas/NY/Miami kind of thing?
no subject
Date: 2010-07-15 03:51 am (UTC)*tempts you* :D But I suppose if you hadn't watched much of Season 2, it probably won't be as awesome.
And apparently the whole CSI trilogy thing is basically a crossover of all 3 CSIs! Not sure of how the episode is gonna play out but I can't wait!

Date: 2010-07-15 02:10 am (UTC)Do you watch CSI:NY, Casey? Madchen Amick has a recurring role in it, and it's somewhat sad to see Shelly looking so much older and somewhat ... harder-looking ( though still pretty )

Date: 2010-07-14 02:20 pm (UTC)Also, there's a dude who works with me who's name is Jeff Palmer. I always ask him if he knows who killed Laura. He doesn't know what I'm talking about. :P
no subject
Date: 2010-07-15 02:36 am (UTC)I bought the book 'The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer' LOL. And I'm pretty sure if fandom as we know it now existed back then, I'd be heavily involved in it. And there'd be Shelly!girls vs Donna!girls, or James!girls vs Bobby!girls lol.
The funny thing is, I didn't slash anybody from the show then. Not that I didn't do any slashing when I was at that age, I did, it's just TP didn't give off any gay vibe to me then. It was just Donna/James and Donna/Cooper for me.
But watching it again now, I'm kinda thinking the Sheriff and Agent Cooper are somewhat very ... cosy ... together :DDD

Date: 2010-07-14 04:48 pm (UTC)Twin Peaks - I was a huge fan in the beginning, but they lost me around the time they brought in the dwarf and things got really bizarre. I just couldn't keep up with it and stopped watching though I did watch just enough to find out who killed Laura.

Date: 2010-07-15 02:54 am (UTC)It didn't even occur to me that they'd suspect anyone from the team at first and I was like, Hodgins? Cam? Zack????
Yes, the last quarter of Twin Peaks was a lot bizarre. I guess that was why the show got the axe :(
Do you remember the characters Josie Packard ( Joan Chen ) and Audrey ( Sherilyn Fenn )? I thought they were the embodiment of the term "sex kitten" - one a bit more mischievous than the other, but oh, so sexy!!
no subject
Date: 2010-07-18 06:15 pm (UTC)I do remember them. Joan Chen was soo gorgeous I don't know what ever happened to her. And I still remember Audrey's cherry stem trick (I think that's the first time I ever saw anyone do that on TV). :) Personally I always thought Sherilyn Fenn was much sexier than Lara Flynn Boyle.
no subject
Date: 2010-07-18 11:29 pm (UTC)Lol that was the first time I even heard about that trick, let alone knew what it actually implied. Ahaha, I was such an innocent back then.
Oh Donna wasn't sexy, but she was so pretty!!

Date: 2010-07-14 06:53 pm (UTC)i watched the hell out of this show in high school -- i don't remember a lot of it because we'd do marathons and i would fall asleep every few episodes. but the dwarf, holy crap, creepiest thing ever. that last scene, too -- with the sprinklers going off? sends chills down my spine even years later.

Date: 2010-07-15 03:06 am (UTC)Something that Dean would totally have said! And oh, I do so want that on my coffee mug :D
The whole thing sent shivers down my spine, even when the scenes were not particularly scary, they were so well done!
