Watching Deathly Hollows, I've quite forgotten that I used to ship Harry/Hermione and reading the books, I remember wishing that Hermione would be the one for Harry. She's My Girl, as is Snape My Teacher. Love that scene in the tent where Hermione and Harry danced together. That was my favourite part, and I thought it was beautifully done *sighs ...*

Saw CSI:NY 708 Scared Stiff last night. Lol that could have been a crossover with SPN! There was a White Lady and restless spirits, sulphur and salt, a TAPS-like ghost-hunter ( I like to think that the writers were giving a shout-out to Adam's alter ego heheh ) and a man who could easily have been Dean Winchester digging up a grave! What I wouldn't give to read a good CSI:NY/SPN crossover now. Too bad [livejournal.com profile] weird_fin is not into SPN :)

And before that I watched an episode of The X-Files, Fire, and guess who was in it? Crowley! Well, Mark Sheppard of course but he'll always be Crowley to me. Anyway, he was a firestarter in it ( fire demon! King Of Hell! ) and his ceiling fire was exactly like the one that killed Mary and Jess! Crowley looked good in that episode, he was so much younger back then.

Really, has Mark Sheppard ever played a good guy? 24, Leverage, SPN, The X-Files, Chuck ... and I don't think he particularly look like a villain!

The internet connection at my office was bad yesterday, I got disconnected often, and it's worse today. I've called my internet provider and talking with them made me want to go throttle someone. 4 calls to 4 different techs, and all of them asked the same questions, yes, my cables are attached properly and yes, my phone line is fine, and what's that again? You want my handphone number? Aaaaaaaaargh. It was only after the last call that they said they'd send someone over - within 72 hours. And if no one came, I was to call them again and I bet they'd ask the same things all over again. The connection is fine at home so it's not my laptop.

On another note, thank you [livejournal.com profile] xwacky and [livejournal.com profile] i_o_r_h_a_e_l for the yummeh fruits! I'm having them as afters for dinner today ♥♥♥

Mark played a very interesting character on BSG. Not quite good but not completely bad. A lawyer ;)

New BSG, yes. He was in last season (or one before last, i don't remember it properly) but he was good there :)

I loved Mark A. Sheppard in SOF: Soldiers of Fortune where he played CJ, an explosive expert. He was only in the 1st season. But in the 2nd one we learned that he and Chance, his best friend, left together for Hawaii. Could it be more slashy?

He's a good guy in that show, then? And yeah, leaving together for Hawaii is very slashy indeed!

Yes, he played a good guy. Slightly nuts, but a good guy.

First off yes Harry/Hermione was adorable.

Second, heh, sorry for not knowing a lot about Supernatural! ;) Plus, I'm two seasons behind in CSI: NY *sighs dramatically* (I'm just saying two seasons though I've almost finished S5) Ignor my CSI: NY comment you will see variants of this forever more I am beginning to believe...forever more

Yup, you were the first person that I thought of when I thought of a Mac-meets-Dean story :))

I checked his name at imdb and wow, his CV seems like a mile long. I wonder whether he and Misha talked about their days with Jack Bauer in 24 lol.

Gah, hate internetz snafus! Hope it works better today for you.

I saw HP over the weekend and enjoyed it... I kinda wished Harry and Hermione would have got together but I do like the against-stereotype pairing of Ron & Hermione. Most every other book/movie/tv show has the main hero getting the girl.

One of these days I really do need to read the books.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
*gasps*

You haven't read the books? :DD

You should read the first three at least. I enjoyed them very much, not so much the rest of the books though but yeah, the first three are definitely worth reading.

And I know what you mean about the hero not getting the girl but ... Ron?? Heheh, I apologize if you're a Ron!Girl ;DD

Date: 2010-11-26 03:35 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cairistiona7.livejournal.com
Nah, not a Ron!Girl... not an anything Potter girl, to be honest. I find the movies amusing but I just can't get too excited about them, probably because the protags are kids. I have the same problem getting into the Narnia books. I've read several, and I've seen the films, but they just don't stir me like Tolkien's works do.

Date: 2010-11-26 02:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weird-fin.livejournal.com
But Harry does 'get the girl' just a different girl. One he apparently likes much much more. ;)

Date: 2010-11-26 03:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cairistiona7.livejournal.com
Yes, he does get a girl, but not the main character girl that's more typical in stories, is what I meant. :)

Date: 2010-11-26 03:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] weird-fin.livejournal.com
I knew what you meant. :) I think Ginny is a bigger character in the books, obviously not the 'golden trio' but in the movies I feel its more apparent the differences between the main characters.

I'm hoping I can see HP today, but I'm expecting some rather large packages to be delivered, and I think I'd better make sure I'm here, and maybe go Sunday instead....no deliveries!

Mark Sheppard also played a bad guy in Firefly (one episode) and a kinda bad guy, or at least not a very nice guy, in Dollhouse (2 or 3 eps, I think). He really gets around! I think part of the reason they cast him is that he doesn't look evil. He can play a charming, or faux-charming guy who you're not sure you can trust, reeeeeally well!

Exactly! Crowley for instance, my impression of him all this while was a demon with a heart of gold ( well, maybe not gold exactly but you know what I mean ) and now he turns out to be an all out villain. Argh, never trust a demon!

From: [identity profile] shadowc44.livejournal.com
Exactly, you want to trust him...figuring he's out for himself, but maybe he can help the Winchesters along the way...but NO! I still kinda like him, though, even though he hurt my Sammy! Well, perhaps not my Sammy, but Soulless!Sam. But for some reason there's still a shred of hope that he'll come through for them. Though I don't really think he does have access to Sam's soul.

I was going to suggest Mark Sheppherd in BSG (which is what I know him from!) as a not-entirely-bad-more-sort-of-amoral character that he's played - with an Irish accent in that one. Being a crazy BSG fan back in the day, I remember listening to him and some of the other actors on a roundtable discussion and he came across really well with a great sense of humour, so I always enjoy seeing him on screen, and totally adore him as Crowley!

I've never shipped Harry/Hermione reading the books, but I could totally see the possibility of it in the latest film, that extra little scene was lovely, and really it does have way more depth than Harry/Ginny.

I totally went misty-eyed at that dancing scene. Ack, I guess that's all I'm going to get for my H/H shipping, unless part 2 diverges from the book of course, which I very much doubt will happen, seeing that the movies followed the books very, very closely!

Heheh, these days I squeed out loud whenever I saw Sheppard's name in the line-ups, and boy, he does get around, doesn't he?

I can send the link to that ep if you want. Then maybe you can write me the crossover! Mac came across a man wearing a hooded jacket ( he wasn't tall enough to be Sam, so he must have been Dean ), digging up a grave at the crime scene, ( he ran off and got away from Mac ) and the team found traces of salt in that area! I bet he was about to salt-burn the corpse lol.

Mark was in BSG too. I don't think he was a bad bad guy. But he sure was shady. He confused me to be honest.

That's just it about the characters that he played! I thought he was a "good" demon in Supernatural, turned out he was the King Of Hell now. And he was kind of funny in Chuck, I wasn't sure that he really was a villain in it until it was revealed that he really was one!

I plan to watch Deathly Hollows next week. I kinda disappointed that Hermione is not the girl for Harry. I wanted it that way.

And Crowley. I saw him EVERY WHERE! Even in "Warehouse 13". He's a good guy there. I lost count on how many shows he's in it.
