Watching Oprah's 'Old Hearthrobs' a while back ( Shaun Cassidy anyone? ) made me think of my own, my Jensens of yore so to speak. They were the ones that I used to picture in my mind as my favourite characters in the books that I read ( ha, I used to imagine Ludlum's Bourne looking like Richard Dean Anderson! ), the ones that I thought of just before I dropped off to sleep. Lol some things never change ...

Anyways. These are the guys that used to make my tween heart race, the ones whose pics I meticulously cut out from mags and newspapers and lovingly paste on scrapbooks.

Richard Hatch aka Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica *whimpers* Argh, how I hated the girl who played his love interest in the show, whatshername?
Photobucket

Patrick Duffy. Bobby Ewing OMG!!! But unlike Apollo/that woman, I adored Bobby/Pam. I spent quite a considerable amount of my free time creating stories about them in my head.
Photobucket

John Taylor. Just look at those sharply-defined angle of his jaws *faints* I zeroed in on him every time I saw Duran Duran performed. Simon who?
Photobucket

Mark Harmon. I mostly knew him as Field Carlyle in Flamingo Road, and I thought Field and Lane was the most perfect couple then, second only to Bobby/Pam. Urgh, die, Constance, die!
Photobucket

Dack Rambo. Awww ... I really adored his Jack Cole in Sword of Justice, I thought he looked so dashing in his all-black get-up, with that rope of his and his calling cards. I only learnt about his death just recently :(
Photobucket

Stefan Edberg. He made me think of McGyver!!!
Photobucket

Hmmm, come to think of it, these guys did look kind of similar, the shape of their faces I think. Heheh, no wonder Dean Winchester was not immediately my favourite brother!

I don't really know how they look like now and googling for these pics, I tried very hard not to look at them, their current pics I mean. I wish to, you know, remember them the way they were but ack, I could still see them. And I believe the one that has aged the best is probably Mark Harmon. And now I've a hankering to go watch NCIS.

What about you guys? Any old hearthrobs that you have fond memories of?

Oh my gosh, RICHARD HATCH!!! You posted a pic of RICHARD HATCH!!! *SQUEEEEEEEEEEE* I was sooooo deeply madly in love with Apollo and was always so aggravated that all the teenybopper mags were filled instead with Dirk Benedict pics. *sigh* But I had what pics I could find plastered all over my room. And yeah, Cassiopeia or whoever you spelled her name was.. yick. Soooo badly cast. But back to Richard Hatch: those green eyes... *swoon*

I was also deeply madly in love with Randolph Mantooth of "Emergency!" Still get the goosebumps over him, actually. *g* I actually have a Mother's Day card from him--a friend met him at a meet-and-greet thing and had him sign it for me right after we'd adopted our daughter. That was a major jump up and down, scare the baby moment, opening that card. *blushes*

I really dug the dark-haired ones... Tom Selleck, Erik Estrada... any wonder I dig Aragorn. LOL

Gosh, thanks for posting this... good memories!

(Oh, and I dug Sean Cassidy, too. Had a poster and still have his "Born Late" album down in the basement in a box with all my other vinyl... I really need to get a turntable...)

I know! RICHARD HATCH!!!! I love that dark, brooding look of his. And of course, Cassiopeia, I remember now. Eeeeck! Do you watch the new BSG? What do you think of the new Apollo? I was greatly amused that Starbucks is now a girl heheh.

Erik Estrada! He's cute but I was more of a Jon girl than Ponch :))

Did you watch that Oprah episode where she interviewed Shaun Cassidy? I love the Hardy Boys but heheh, Frank!girl here!

I've never watched the new BSG, nope. When I heard Starbuck was a woman, I just couldn't go there. LOL (Apollo had my heart but I loved Dirk Benedict, too).

And I didn't see the Oprah show, no... I figured I'd catch the interview online somewhere. I used to watch Oprah now and then but eh, it seems lately she's EVERYWHERE and I've gotten a bit tired of her, to be honest. Although if she had Viggo on there ever... *g*

I'm quite a fan of Katee Sackhoff and I think she played Starbucks extremely well. Her likeness to the old boy Starbucks is so good that it's quite eerie, her looks, her mannerism. The new Apollo is different though.
