Was it just my imagination or was Dean extra, extra, extra pretty in this episode? And young. He looked like a kid in a candy store!
I could feel the camera lovingly caressing every single inch of his face.

The shots of him in Frontierland reminds me of that scene in Phantom Traveller, the way the camera slowly panned up his body, with Sam standing transfixed by the door, mesmerized.

*stares*

But oh, that duel at the end, such an EPIC scene, they both looked so majestic!

And you're most welcome!!

Date: 2011-04-29 04:16 pm (UTC)In the first half, I think it was that childlike quality we love so much. His face was more relaxed, he smiled more, and consequently, his eyes look bigger (I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks Dean Winchester squints too much). In the second half, we just got that smolder... you know, that BAMF Dean we love so much.
Also (and this is probably not going to sound right) I think his short, masculine haircut also detracts from his pretty face. When his hair is longer, it softens his look and his features come out more (the cheekbones, the jawline, the lips, and of course, the eyes & long eyelashes). When he wears hats, it's almost the same thing because we're left with nothing but his pretty face.
Anyway, yeah... He was absolutely gorgeous and the camera does love him!

Date: 2011-04-29 06:58 pm (UTC)Actually he looked so young because for the first time in a long time he was smiling like 50% of the ep. It's so rare these days *sigh*

Date: 2011-05-01 01:18 am (UTC)Not just your imagination - I thought the same thing. The camera most certainly loved him in this episode! For that reason, I'm hoping we get director Guy Bee back again real soon. He sure knows how to bring out the pretty :)
