I saw Deathly Hallows during the weekend which I lovedlovedloved.
Enjoyed it tremendously despite being on the second front row seats. I have to say that I'm a bit surprised by that ( me enjoying the movie that is, not me being right below the screen craning my neck up for two hours ), mainly because other than Prisoner of Azkaban, which I loved very, very much, I didn't quite enjoy the rest ( my profuse apologies to the Harry Potter fans on my flist ).
I cried at the end when Harry told his son that he was named after Dumbledore and Snape, and that Snape was the bravest man he'd ever known. Snape had been my favourite character since Book 1 and I love book!Snape as much as I love movie!Snape.
LOVE seeing them being made-up as adults!! They did Harry really well I think, and Hermione too. That girl has aged well.
Btw, that was Bonham-Carter herself playing Hermione!Lestrange, wasn't it? If it was her, then it was excellent acting by her because I couldn't make up my mind whether that was her or Emma Watson!
Now I probably will go re-watch all the HP movies and maybe I'll like them better the second time around!

Btw, how are you? I read your post about your fall but I couldn't comment at that time, despite trying for about a gazillion times.

Date: 2011-08-02 04:32 am (UTC)Yes, that was Helena playing Emma playing her, but the voice was Emma's ( I googled it up ), hence the confusion. She looked like Helena but she sounded like Emma!

Date: 2011-08-08 03:07 pm (UTC)I was afraid I was gonna cry for the Twin death (Keep forget who died. Ooopsie bad fan!) but it didn't grip me in the movie (was so quick and short) but in the book I was heartbroken.
Hee, yeah I liked them as adult except Draco. That beard made me laugh. Sorry Mr Felton but that did not look real or very good IMO.
The movies are uneven but I find movies 1-4 quite good. It's more of a childrens adventure but then I kinda like that. I was a bit disappointed for 5 and 6. Still ok but wasn't as exciting as I had hoped they would be. Movie 7 part 1 is the same as the first half of the book. Quite boring but part 2 makes up for that big time.
I want to see part 1 and 2 back to back now. :)
Oh, and also on Helena. She acted so briliantly as Hermoine/Emma. Nailed her mannerism to the letter.

Date: 2011-08-09 02:46 am (UTC)I want to watch Prisoner of Azkaban all over again and see whether it's still as good as I thought it was. The one scene that I remember most from that movie was the quiet talk Harry had with Lupin, I thought that was exquisitely done.
I didn't quite remember ( from the book ) that one of the twins died, and like you said, it was so short in the movie, blink and you'd have missed it and I'm a bit frustrated with that. But otherwise, it was all good! It was the one HP movie ( other than Azkaban ) that coming out of the theater, I wanted to go right back in for a repeat watch.

Date: 2011-08-09 07:18 am (UTC)I don't think I trusted Snape but I did like him. I could see it from Harry's perpective (I do like Harry very much but yes he can also be very annoying and rash/stupid) and he was right to be suspicious but oh so wrong at the conclusions he did. But yes the fact that Dumbeldore trusted him is a reason he just had to be more than what was on the surface. I felt he could go either way. Good or bad. You just couldn't be sure. And that made him a very interesting character.
His ending was tragic. And so very sad. *sniff*
