I saw Deathly Hallows during the weekend which I lovedlovedloved.

Enjoyed it tremendously despite being on the second front row seats. I have to say that I'm a bit surprised by that ( me enjoying the movie that is, not me being right below the screen craning my neck up for two hours ), mainly because other than Prisoner of Azkaban, which I loved very, very much, I didn't quite enjoy the rest ( my profuse apologies to the Harry Potter fans on my flist ).

I cried at the end when Harry told his son that he was named after Dumbledore and Snape, and that Snape was the bravest man he'd ever known. Snape had been my favourite character since Book 1 and I love book!Snape as much as I love movie!Snape.

LOVE seeing them being made-up as adults!! They did Harry really well I think, and Hermione too. That girl has aged well.

Btw, that was Bonham-Carter herself playing Hermione!Lestrange, wasn't it? If it was her, then it was excellent acting by her because I couldn't make up my mind whether that was her or Emma Watson!

Now I probably will go re-watch all the HP movies and maybe I'll like them better the second time around!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did watch a vid on youtube that has some of Snape's scenes, and I loved it. Snape's my favorite character, too.

I loved Snape right from the very beginning when I read the first book. And I just knew that he was a good guy. Maybe because Dumbledore trusted him and there had to be a reason for that. Many a times I was annoyed with Harry for not trusting Snape!

I'm glad you liked it so much! I've been disappointed in a couple of the movies, but for the most part I've liked them. Snape was my favorite character, too. I didn't care for the way the kids were aged, it looked too fake to me.

I thought it was Emma Watson playing Hermione!LeStrange, but I wasn't entirely sure. If it was Bonham-Carter she did an excellent job!

I googled that part up, and it was Bonham-Carter, but the voice was Emma's. I tought she sounded like Emma Watson but she looked so much like Helena that I was quite confused!

Such good acting, that, Helena playing Emma playing her!

Btw, how are you? I read your post about your fall but I couldn't comment at that time, despite trying for about a gazillion times.

Yes, it was very clever! She was quite Hermione-like. When this last movie comes out on DVD, I'm going to have myself a marathon, and see how they all work when there's not a year or so in between movies.

That was her playing herself, I think. You're right that she did such a great job playing Hermione playing her!! I really loved the movie. I think it is the best of the series. And word to what you said about Snape!!

I like Snape so much that it irritated me no ends that Harry didn't get along with him.

Yes, that was Helena playing Emma playing her, but the voice was Emma's ( I googled it up ), hence the confusion. She looked like Helena but she sounded like Emma!

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I haven't seen any of the movies past "Order of the Phoenix." It was good, huh? Some day I'll have to catch up. :)

This one, like Azkaban, was matured and "grown-up". Not that I looked down on kids' movies, there're plenty of those that I liked, but the other HP movies just didn't do anything for me.

Do watch this when you have the time!

I was very upset when Rowlings killed him off in the book! I remembered that part very well from the book so I wasn't that sad, seeing it in the movie. But I didn't remember about Harry naming his son after him, or talking about him the way he did, so I was practically weeping there.

I have to say that was the one scene that made me emmotional too. LOVE Snape. Also liked him from the start but I think when it was finally revealed how much he must have sacrificed I simply loved him. Oh, and <3 Alan Rickman. Wish Snape had been in it more in all movies.

I was afraid I was gonna cry for the Twin death (Keep forget who died. Ooopsie bad fan!) but it didn't grip me in the movie (was so quick and short) but in the book I was heartbroken.

Hee, yeah I liked them as adult except Draco. That beard made me laugh. Sorry Mr Felton but that did not look real or very good IMO.

The movies are uneven but I find movies 1-4 quite good. It's more of a childrens adventure but then I kinda like that. I was a bit disappointed for 5 and 6. Still ok but wasn't as exciting as I had hoped they would be. Movie 7 part 1 is the same as the first half of the book. Quite boring but part 2 makes up for that big time.

I want to see part 1 and 2 back to back now. :)

Oh, and also on Helena. She acted so briliantly as Hermoine/Emma. Nailed her mannerism to the letter.

Did you read the books, Suzy? Right from the very beginning I had a feeling ( and I badly wanted it that way ) that Snape wasn't evil. My argument is simple - Dumbledore trusted him and Dumbledore was far from stupid. And also, Harry irritated me more often than not ( of the three, Hermione is my favourite ) and whenever they clashed I always side with Snape!

I want to watch Prisoner of Azkaban all over again and see whether it's still as good as I thought it was. The one scene that I remember most from that movie was the quiet talk Harry had with Lupin, I thought that was exquisitely done.

I didn't quite remember ( from the book ) that one of the twins died, and like you said, it was so short in the movie, blink and you'd have missed it and I'm a bit frustrated with that. But otherwise, it was all good! It was the one HP movie ( other than Azkaban ) that coming out of the theater, I wanted to go right back in for a repeat watch.

Yup. Read all books. But I can't say I remember them very well. The movies are fresher in my mind.

I don't think I trusted Snape but I did like him. I could see it from Harry's perpective (I do like Harry very much but yes he can also be very annoying and rash/stupid) and he was right to be suspicious but oh so wrong at the conclusions he did. But yes the fact that Dumbeldore trusted him is a reason he just had to be more than what was on the surface. I felt he could go either way. Good or bad. You just couldn't be sure. And that made him a very interesting character.

His ending was tragic. And so very sad. *sniff*
