As of this afternoon :

Photobucket

I don't mind any of those four winning. Though I have to say it's a bit of a surprise that Benedict Cumberbatch is there at all. I think he's crushworthy of course but I know a lot of people think he's ... odd-looking, to say the least.

To be honest, I used to think that, too, when I first watched BBC!Sherlock but Benedict Cumberbatch has this *thing* about him that pulled me in and in and in. He's not coventionally handsome or beautiful or pretty but he's attractive in a - argh, I can't think of the correct word for it - magnetic?, sort of way. And that voice ::DIES::

Anyway, let the most crushworthy one wins. Like I said, I'd be very happy with any of the four winning!

And if you want to vote, the poll is still open.

Hmmm, my list of TV crushes would be quite different I think. I should come up with my own list. But I don't think I would be able to rank them.

Ok. honestly, I don't think Benedict is handsome either. But I have to say I got drawn in after watching Sherlock season 2. Still don't find him attractive but there's certainly something about him. Haven't seen him anything else so for now it's his Sherlock, not as himself, that has me hooked. *grins*

I approve of House on the list. Not what I would call handsome either though. But same here, there's someting about him (Hugh) that draws me in. Like him a lot.

As for the rest of the list... I don't watch those TV shows but they are indeed very crushable men. :)

It was, oddly, Benedict first for me, though now it's both the actor and the character. I love the show but I didn't get why so many people went gaga over him, so out of curiosity, I downloaded a few of his past movies. I saw Van Gogh: Painted With Words, Hawking and Stuart, A Life Backwards back to back, and I was blown away by his acting ability. He was magnificent as Van Gogh, Hawking and the writer who friended a homeless man in Stuart. I didn't see Sherlock at all in any of those movies, he was Van Gogh personified, he was Hawking, he was a kind hearted writer ... and I'm totally all over him lol. Also, it helped that he was actually cute when he was younger. Hee!

He's in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and he'll soon be in The Hobbit as the voice of Smaug. Looking forward to Smaug's interaction with Bilbo!

I don't usually go for conventionally hansom, which is why I can't work out how I fell for Jensen so hard. Let's be honest, Elijah was never 'conventionally hansom' but so much more my type. I can totally see why you like Benedict. A little bit quirky and all the better for it.

I think you know already that when I first watched the show, Sam was my favourite brother, not Dean, and I prefered Jared to Jensen. I thought Jensen was err, chocolate box pretty, or Beckham-pretty, if you knew what I mean. I thought his features were too regular to be interesting. But Dean Winchester had a way of getting into your heart, didn't he, and somehow, I fell for him, hard. And I still adore him till now!

Btw, Jensen won the poll, by a very close margin it seemed. So apt, since it's his birthday!!

Yes, I completely agree with you, Jensen *is* to chocolate box pretty. But Dean - and for me more especially, Jensen - has a way of getting to you.

Are you pretty much out of that fandom now? Are you Sherlock or not so much into fandom?

I'm still into SPN, still reading the fics and all. But I'm into Sherlock, too, am reading a couple of fics here and there, join a few comms. I just wish there're more of Sherlock to squee over. It's kind of hard to do that when you only have only three episodes per series and those are like, a year apart?

Yes, again, I know just what you mean. It feels really hard to squee over so little when we're used to a weekly instalment. But how long did we manage in LotR? Three films, a year apart and the squee went on for years.

How did we do that? Good times.

LotR is EPIC!!! And there're the books, which will always be there, and most of the LotR fans have already been fans even before the movie!

I'm curious,do you know if they wrote slash before the films?

I have no idea. I came into the fandom at the tail end of it. Lol, I remember being so flabbergasted ( in a good way )that there were other people slashing Frodo and Sam, I thought it was just me! And I was outright horrifed ( at that time ) that there were Aragorn/Legolas shippers!

That's how I felt when I first discovered slash, flabbergasted and so pleased I wasn't the only pervert out there!

I stayed up until 2 am, 3 am even, reading slash. I couldn't get enough of Frodo/Sam. Then I discovered rpfs, and LJ, and you ♥♥♥ The rest, as they say, is history ...

Oh dear, I feel completely out of touch or something, because absolutely none of my crushes are on that poll. LOL I would have picked Jim Caviezel, Timothy Olyphant and Matt Bomer, but alas, they're not even on the list.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
I think Matt Bomer was there but he got eliminated in an earlier round. Not sure about the other two though. Heheh, I'd have liked to see the hunks in Game of Thrones there but sadly, none of them were listed.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read this. I think him being Sherlock Holmes makes him sexy, coz is there anything sexier than a really scarily intelligent guy? Little bit (only a little) bit pissed Dean isn't number one but that's just because I'm a Dean girl through and through so he should totally be number one, lol. Love the fact that House is there coz he's so awesome. What about Sam Winchester though? They had Jensen as Dean and Eric Brady, surely they could have had two Jareds? As I said I'm a Dean girl but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate Sam is a fine looking man, no? And what's up with John being so far down the list. It totally should have been Dean, John, Sam, Cas, that would've made my inner fan girl very happy! Lol

Sorry for the long comment but I was just thinking about all this when I saw your post and was so surprised that someone else had seen the poll so I thought I'd comment, sorry! Lol

Hey, Dean won! By a narrow margin but still he won! And it's his birthday, too!

I think him being Sherlock Holmes makes him sexy, coz is there anything sexier than a really scarily intelligent guy?

*agrees whole-heartedly*

Jared as Sam was there I believe but he got eliminated during the earlier rounds.

No worries. I'm very happy to meet a fellow Dean!girl who's also into Sherlock, so comment away!

*hugs*

Heheh, Dean won. By a close margin I think.

Btw, OT here. How does an .mkv file differ from an .avi file? Can it be played on the dvd player, like an .avi file?

Date: 2012-03-02 08:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] i-o-r-h-a-e-l.livejournal.com
Oh, Dean! :D

Umm, no. I don't think dvd player can play an .mkv file. You have to convert it first to .avi. You can do that at zamzar.com. :D

Date: 2012-03-02 08:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Okay, I'll do that. Or at least I'll try to. I hope it's not to difficult!

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Yes, it looked doable. But unfortunately you have to sign up if you want to convert files that're bigger than 100mb *sighs*

From: [identity profile] i-o-r-h-a-e-l.livejournal.com
Oh, I see! :( So I don't think I've converted more than 100mb then.

What is it you want to convert? Can't you find the .avi file instead? May I help?

It's the recent Oscars. The only downloadable ones that I could find were mkvs. I've found a few .avi but for some reasons, they're extremely slow to download. I've already donwloaded the mkv one but I'd love to watch it on the telly.

I haven't tried torrent yet. Maybe I should. But it's okay, it's not that important. Now if Jensen were one of the nominees, or the presenter, then it'd be a matter of life and death lol.

Out of these, I only like Benedict Cumberbatch - and him only when he's got dark hair, especially Sherlock's. :) But when he looks like that... *swoons*

I totally agree on him looking better dark-haired. Which is ironic since he's naturally ginger-haired lol. I saw ginger!Benedict when he presented the documentary The Rattigan enigma and I didn't like it!

Wasn't he adorable then? *coos* Now I'm sure there're plenty of equally adorable Martin's wee pics as well :DD

I have only seen one wee Martin pic so far but I must admit I haven't looked for them (neither did I look for the ones of Benedict, that simply came up in the Sherlock tag on Tumblr). If I find any, I'll share them. :D
