The Way Back by [ profile] rainylemons, SPN, gen rating R, 35971 words, post apocalyspe-that-never-happens, AU after season five.
Summary: Sam and Dean and Cas settling down together. Dean is injured and Sam is not all there after his time in the cage and Cas is no longer an angel. They make it work.

I don't have the words to adequately describe this story. Suffice to say that it has more Moments in it than all of season 6 put together and that I had to pull myself together several times while reading it.

Read omg read!

The Natalie verse by [ profile] longsufferingly, J2, AU, a collection of stories, rating ranging from PG-13 to NC-17.
Summary: After their mother dies, Kyle and Natalie move in with their father, whom they haven't seen since their parents divorced six years ago, and his boyfriend, whom they've never seen.

This is such a sweet story, one I enjoyed reading very much. It reminded me a bit of [ profile] phaballa's Last Stop: Chicagoland, a story which even after all these years, I still consider one of the best J2s around. And like Chicagoland, Natalie is realistic and down-to-earth, the story of Jensen and Jared, mostly told from the POV of Jensen's daughter from a previous marriage. It was written 3 years ago and I'm guessing that it has been read by most but do go read if you haven't!

I'm hardly reading any SPN or J2 fics now, but "The Way Back" sounds interesting. I'll give it a try. :)

ETA: Now I'm craving Taco Bell, at 3:00 in the morning, and even at a reasonable time there isn't one I can get to easily. Bummer.

I think you're going to love Sam in that story. I cried at some of the parts, and not to spoil you much, it has something to do with a guitar, you'll know when you come to that part.

Sounds good! I haven't started it yet. I'm almost exclusively reading Glee fic, inc RPF. I am SO going to Special Hell! Maybe I need a nice SPN fic to break things up a bit. :)

I read The Natalie verse a long time ago... What a wonderful little collection, right? I think I would have loved to see more from Natalie's POV as they got older. Thanks for the reminder. I think I'll read it again. :)

I can't believe I've put it off for so long. It has been on my TRL since forever. I wish there're more, too, and yes, one from when the kids are older would be lovely.

I guess I have to finally admit that domestic stories do it for me like nothing else, because The Natalie verse has made me extraordinarily happy. : ) Thanks for recommending it.

Hee, my usual question: how much of sam is there in the first rec? is it safe for me to read or i shouldn't even bother?

I second that question, now that I think about it, because it would make a difference!

Like I told Leelust, it's Cas-centric, but it's about him taking care of Sam and Dean who are both sick, in their own ways. So it's not about Cas Cas, but about Cas's Sam and Dean. I think you've started on it, so you probably know what I mean :)

It's actually Cas-centric with more or less equal amount of Dean and Sam. I love it, so you are going to love it, too :D

Hey you, my sweeeeets *smooches*

Guess what I got in the mail??????? Thank you thank you thank you, darling, it's the most beautiful thing EVER. Lucky you, going to Bali. Working or vacation, or both?

And that Natalie verse is so sweet and adorable story, right? :DD

Thank you again, dearest. I LOVE IT :))

Waaaaaa......I'm so glad you like the bracelet.

I was in Bali for a coverage. It's a yoga festival. A lot of yoga people there. I don't do yoga though. Well, once or twice a few months ago and that's all. :D

But, it's so much fun to be in that festival. It's in Ubud.

I bought the bracelet in a traditional market. You should see the market, Layne. It's like a usual market, but there's a section for crafts. They made me want to buy everything. :D

And the Natalie Verse. I love it. Very sweet, and yet very bitter sometimes. It's so sad to read about the little girl. But I enjoyed it.

I envy your line of work. You get to go everywhere and do almost everything. I'm very sure if there is an SPN convention in Jakarta, you'll get to cover it and do a one-on-one with Jared or Jensen ( or both! ).

Definitely. As long as, the Con is in Jakarta, so I won't have to go far. :D:D:D:D:D
