Ten things I want to know regarding Borderlines.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Borderlines lately and these questions have been running around in my head. I meant to post them earlier but vshendria has already posted chapter 21 in which most of them are answered. I’m posting them anyway since she’s curious :)

Okay, these two have been answered:

1. Would Zeke ever get to meet Roy? Would Zeke get to punch him?

2. Was Melissa’s daughter a hottie? Would she hit it off with Zeke? Would she have sex with Zeke?

Next:

3. Okay, I suppose this would be in everyone’s mind. Would Yves get Casey admitted to the hospital? Casey was in pretty bad shape, quite suicidal I think. And if he’s admitted, would they go as far as giving him ECT?

4. Would Casey accept Stokely’s offer of a job at the store she worked in? Would Zeke ever allow it?

5. It had crossed Casey’s mind to move out of their Seattle’s apartment. Would he think of moving in with Stokely? Would Stokely (and Stan) like the idea?

6. Would Aunt Charly play a more active role regarding Casey’s well-being? She’s the only outsider here that genuinely believed in the alien invasion.

7. Would Casey agree to go for hypnotism? Or any other alternative medicine such as Traditional Chinese Medicine? absolutefiction and I have been discussing a little bit on this.

8. Would Sasha and Jerry ever get to redeem their special dinner voucher?

9. What were the songs that Casey had chosen in that CD he gave Zeke for Christmas?

10. Was that sweet potato dish that Aunt Charly prepared during Thanksgiving, the one that Casey liked so much, based on a real recipe? If so can I have the recipe please? I would like to have oral sex with those potatoes too *grins*

As to #10, I didn't have a particular recipe in mind, I just know there are a lot of those around, variants of the "sweet potatoes with marshmallows" recipe. Personally, I think marshmallows are pretty disgusting but I love do love sweet potatoes...I could try and find you a recipe.

Nah, I dont want to know the answers. That would be like peeking at the last page of a favourite book and I would never ever do that. I just need those burning questions out of my head.

I love sweet potatoes too. And yes, I'd love to have Casey's Mom's recipe. But not if it'll take you away from Borderlines!

I think I'm getting rather obsessed with Borderlines,in a good way though. Each time I see Josh Hartnett in a movie I'd be thinking of him as Borderlines!Zeke from different parts of the story.

LOL I think I´m the same. I saw "Hollywood Homicide" this weekend and saw Zeke the entire time, of course I had Borderlines waiting for me to read, so maybe that had something to do with it.

I just love to see the picture with Josh and Elijah together on vshendria site. Oh, and icon.

Have you seen Josh's other movies? I've seen "O" and Wicker Park. Hollywood Homicide too. And yes, Josh was Zeke the entire time :)

No, I have not seen those movies you mention. I don´t recognize the titles, but it can be that those films had a different title in swedish. Wasn´t he in a film with a basket player? Is this one of these? Or maybe I´m confusing him with another.

The first film I saw him in was Pearl Harbor. Then I saw The Faculty and I´ve seen him in some other comedy I don´t remember the title of. Something like 10 days and 10 nights or something. I think that´s all I´ve seen him in.

Yes, in "O" Josh is a basketball player. Wicker Park is a psychological thriller. His co-stars were Diane Kruger ( of Troy )and Rose Bryne ( also of Troy ).

I think what you meant was 40 days and 40 nights. I havent seen that one yet but I think it's about him trying to go without sex for 40 days. Sounds very much like Zeke eh? I havent seen Pearl Harbour. I'm not into Ben Affleck I'm afraid. I love Matt Damon though, very much.

Think I want to see Wicker Park. I enjoy watching a good psychological thriller. Is it very new or old? Haven´t heard about it.

I think Zeke will pour his heart out to Sasha who'll tell him the truth about Thomas. ( Thank goodness for Sasha ).The problem would be with Casey whom I think wouldn't see the difference of asking for it and actually doing it. And he saw himself as a filthy slut, unworthy of love of any kind.

WHY did Casey call Zeke in LA? I think Casey called Yves much earlier than that, the day after they arrived in Seattle I think. That would be the morning of the day that Zeke met both Janice and Roy. So when Casey made that call it was already 2 or 3 days after he called Yves ( unless he didn't actually do that ). Was it possible that yves had him commited to a psychiatric hospital?

WHY did Casey call Zeke in LA?

yeah. i totally stopped reading at the part and sat and imagined all the different scenario possibilities. i have a feeling casey is doing better than we think.

a. his dad's neglect is prolly at the root of some of his problems and his dad is really coming through.

b. he must be a lot more together than we are used to for him to be brave enough to disobey zeke by telling yves (which isn't that long a ago story time wise) and to be able to call yves even though he thought zeke wouldn't like it and his dad didn't like it (or questioned it).

Yes, I agree with you there. On the other hand his nightmares seemed to be a lot worse and he's thinking about suicide a lot more than he used to. I'm thinking that it might be a good thing for him to meet Janice. That must have been the ultimate rejection for him, that night at the hotel when he thought that Janice was the alien queen.

holey marmalade! how would that go? i don't know who'd freak out more. casey or janice. casey has that crazy talk roy streak. when he wants to, he can be quite cutting. which casey would we see in that moment? the one who killed the alien queen or the one from the hotel room? or some new version?

i know. poor thing. the ultimate offer (family, oneness) and the ultimate rejection (complete abandonment). and he succumbed to something he didn't want to succumb to and then he was the one that was refused!

IMO the main core of his problem is the series of rejections and sense of abandonment that he had received almost all of his life. Beginning with his father during his childhood, his schoolmates ( must be tough, not having a single friend during the whole of his school years, and him being an only child too ), the town after the alien invasion, Roy, Janice and now Zeke ( even if that's only in his mind ). Casey is strong, very strong, considering the things that he had gone through. Which is one of the many things that make Zeke love him...

As for Casey meeting Janice I'm thinking of them in a controlled environment, the hospital perhaps? Maybe group therapy.
