The Husband says that Josh Hartnett looks a bit like Tommy Lee Jones. Or more aptly, how Josh would look like twenty years from now. I think there are some similarities especially in the bone structures and the way they would stare unsmilingly at the camera.

What do you think? Any father and son material there?

I see similarities in the facial structure, but not much else, actually. The noses are quite different, and the mouths too. The eyes are somewhat alike.

Not in details, no, but rather the overall look. When my husband first mentioned it I didn't initially agree ( we were watching '40 Days and 40 Nights' then ) but then, after a few minutes I was giggling omg he was right!

If someone told me that Tommy Lee Jones was Josh's uncle, I'd believe them.

In other words, they might have the same family blood, but no exact facial characteristics. Though I do believe the eyebrows look a bit alike.

Fun topic! :D

I tried running one of Josh's pics at My Heritage.com (http://www.myheritage.com/) but unfortunately it says that he resembles Thomas Edison!!!

Young Brando, yummmm! Yeah, a little bit of a resemblance there, I agree. Which fic was it that mention somebody ( can't remember who ) as looking like a young Brando?

But of course Tommy Lee is not pretty enough :D

No father would ever look as pretty as his son, heh heh.

But here's (http://journals.democraticunderground.com/ForrestGump/132) somebody that agrees with me.

Allow me to win some more?

Josh said that he'd like to play the same character as TLJ, the young version here (http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Columnists/Ask-FlickChick/default.aspx?posting=%7BE331AE72-8EAC-4C69-AC40-85AAA82750F7%7D).

Love you :DD

Nope, "Hollywood Homicide". He plays along Harrison Ford, and though upon looking at it, y'might think "Oh another stupid buddy-cop movie" it's actually wicked funny. I loved it. :)

I love seeing him doing yoga. Something that Casey might prod him into doing because I really can't see Zeke doing all that 'oooommm' and stretching thingies :D

What was Josh wearing when he was yoga-ing in that movie? I can't remember. He wasn't wearing tights, was he, because I think I would remember that :D

omg I'm absolutely clueless about yoga. It would take me a month of Sundays ( you know, research and stuff, ahem ) to squeeze out a few hundred words on them doing some wierd body positions. If I dare to post them :0

It didn't get the best reviews butI really quite liked that movie. The way Harrison would say, every time someone would mention rap, "I don't get the music." :D

Josh looked totally scrumptious in it, too.

Oh yeees he did. And I LOVED it when Ford stole the kid's bike and just started randomly screaming.
Wasn't the most original idea, but the eye candy was worth it. ;)

I was googling for pics of Tommy Lee when I came across a MySpace entry that said exactly the same thing and using that very same first photo of Josh that for a moment there I thought that it was my own entry. Unfortunately that MySpace post is locked :/

Found this in one of the numerous Josh Harnett's Forums (http://www.starpulse.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=02e6d4a32830c1f94e0835cdb0e4c8b9&topic=8820.msg123309#msg123309)

yeah he's cute.. but not to overly pretty boyish.. Josh Hartnett was in that sappy drama with the girl who looks like Helen Hunt... i can't think of her name..... at the moment but it'll come to me!! the movie was called "Here On Earth". Josh Hartnett kinda looks like actor Tommy Lee Jones .. he looks like he could pass off as Tommy Lee Jones' Son!! My late mother thought Josh looked/ reminded her of actor Jan Michael Vincent.. in a strange and weird way yes but.. i think he reminds me of a young Tommy Lee Jones!! if anyone can see that in him like i do!!

I think the resemblace is even more startling when they're moving and talking :)

yup, its the eyes I guess, Josh's mouth and nose are much prettier though. I've never noticed the resemblance, your hubby's got a good eye. ;)

and I LOVE that first pic of Josh omg. *licks him all over*

I first saw Josh Hartnett while I was working on the set of Cracker, on which he played Robert Pastorelli's son. I didn't know who he was at the time (nobody did, actually - it was one of his first roles), but I immediately wondered if he was Tommy Lee Jones's son. I think they look a great deal alike.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
ZOMG you've seen him in person!!! Lucky, lucky you!

Do you work on film sets a lot? ( if you don't mind me asking )

Date: 2006-10-08 06:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] serai1.livejournal.com
*shrug* Yeah, I saw him. Remember, he was just some kid at the time. He was very tall, kinda lanky and not my type, so I didn't pay him much mind. And since his scenes were all done with just Robert and the woman who played his mother, I never got to see him work. To be honest, if [livejournal.com profile] baylorsr hadn't mentioned him being on Cracker, I honestly don't think I would have remembered him at all. He just didn't make any impression on me.

I used to do a lot of background work, but had to give it up since I had to make a living. Background work pays minimum wage, which may be fine for people who can work three jobs, but not for me, thanks. It was fun, though. I got to hang out with people, read a lot (the old saw about filming being mostly waiting is very true), and occasionally watch someone interesting work. I saw some pretty good people during my time as an extra. :)
