mr and mrs smith
Jun. 16th, 2005 05:22 pmCool movie, Mr and Mrs Smith. I watched it because of Angelina Jolie. My husband watched it because of Brad Pitt.
Hmmm… shouldn’t that be the other way round?
*bemused*
It was rather slow in the beginning but the pace picked up pretty fast. Somewhere it the middle the movie reminds me a bit of The War of The Roses ( Michael Douglas was more convincing as the enraged husband, Jolie was on par with Kathleen Turner) and the ending reminds me of The Bourne Identity.(Must be the director).
Jolie was awesome. So much so that I think she overshadowed Brad Pitt. Her characters in her past movies had always been larger than life and this is no exception. One thing about her is that her, uhm, identity, is so strong that even when her acting is good I’d always think of her as Angelina Jolie instead of the character that she’s playing.
Unlike Elijah Wood. When I think of the characters that he had played I always think of Casey, Frodo, Jones Dillon, The Art Dodger, Sandy or Mike instead of Elijah Wood. But then maybe that’s because he’s at different ages when he was in those movies and Mike didn’t look anything like Jones Dillon and Casey didn’t look anything like Sean Sullivan. Whereas Jolie would always be Jolie, whether as Gia, Mrs Smith or Lara Croft! Those eyes and that bone structure, wow.
Anyway this is a rather interesting review of the movie by one drooling, die-hard fan.

Aah, exactly. It's worth watching the movie just for that!! But I would have loved it better if it's Tom Cruise who gets emasculated;D
