So, he's going to be in Oxford soon. Heh, I know of at least four people on my flist who're going to be estatic that he'll be within stalking distance so near to them during those months of filming. Lucky girls.

Oxford!Elijah brings to mind [livejournal.com profile] grievous_angel's epical Houseparty, the fic that first made the pairing of Viggo/Elijah worked for me. There are stories that you just knew are going to be great right from the very first line and 'Houseparty' is one of them.

Elijah's first abiding memory was of his mother, sweet-scented and warm as she held him close, soothing his hurts after yet another tumble from the pony his father had bought him for his third birthday, determined that he should grow into an expert horseman. She had always sheltered him, never judging, never disappointed in him the way he felt his father was. She had done her best to make sure his childhood was full of long summer days and adventures shared by just the two of them - a day at Coney Island, screaming with delighted fear as they clung to each other on the rides, giggling as they ate too much cotton candy, sucking sticky-sweet fingers until they both felt sick.

Elijah later on went to Oxford, met Dom who became his best friend and through Dom's mother, met Viggo who became his lover through all the years, and beyond. So, yeah, I'll certainly be thinking of Houseparty!Elijah when 'The Oxford Murders' comes out.

And it tickles me that Elijah is going to be an Argentinian in this movie. I wonder whether he'll go to Viggo on tips on how to become one. And I'd die happy if it's Viggo instead of John Hurt playing the role of that Professor.
