Brotherly love.
Feb. 15th, 2007 12:23 amA short Supernatural ficlet for dear
i_o_r_h_a_e_l, prompted by her own answer to the question that she posted here. She already has three romantic ficlets up and I'm eagerly waiting for my *clears throat* Orlijah, warming themselves up by the fire in a secluded mountain cabin ;D
And I also wish to thank the sweet anon who has sent me that lovely rose ♥ I do hope you like Sam and Dean as well!
Title : Not Without Me
Fandom : Supernatural

Rating : G

“Dean! Be careful!” Sam shouts. Turning his head to look back at his brother, Dean could barely make out what Sam is saying above the howling winds. But he could sense the anxiety in his brother’s voice "What a Grandma," he groans inwardly. No surprise that Sam’s freaking out though. Truth be told, Dean is feeling rather queasy himself, standing too near the edge of the cliff but he enjoys the adrenaline rush that comes with being less than a foot away from a fatal plunge down the Grand Canyon. But then, it isn’t everyday that they get to see this utterly amazing view that is the Grand Canyon.
“Hey, I got you.” Sam says breathlessly from behind him, putting his arms around Dean, anchoring him. It is at the tip of Dean’s tongue to snap at his brother for worrying needlessly, and those freakishly huge arms tightly wrapped around him What the fuck? But something stops him. Maybe it is the way Sam’s body is shaking, hardly discernible but there nevertheless. Or maybe it is the way Sam’s breath is hitching, his chin on Dean’s shoulder. But whatever it is, it makes him clasp Sam’s hands tightly and they carefully drop down to the ground together, Dean’s feet dangling over the edge of the cliff with Sam right behind him, his legs forming a V around Dean. Together, the two brothers watch the sunset, not saying anything, the silence broken only by the sound of the wind around them.
“Sorry,” Dean says, rather awkwardly, not really sure why he is apologizing in the first place but saying it anyway.
“That’s alright.”
And it is alright.
~Fin.
A/N I’ve only watched a few episodes of SPN, first season, and I apologized if Sam and Dean here are completely out of character. And Shinta did mention that it was Dean who was afraid of heights, not Sam.

Date: 2007-02-15 04:26 am (UTC)Thanks for reading dearest. Dean strikes me as the more flippant type though I think he needs to appear that way, to hide the fact that he's really hurting inside. And serious!Sam is *my* brother :)
