Has anyone ever seen a circular "rainbow" around the sun before? The rainbow, or solar halo, made an appearance on my birthday, which of course made me feel soooo good. Unfortunately, I missed seeing it with my own eyes, because I don't usually go out under the blistering sun unless absolutely necessary. And even then I wouldn't look up at the sun so yeah, I didn't get to see it, much to my chagrin.

Here's a pic of the halo :

And here's the report that went with it :

Awesome, isn't it?

Anyway, I had a really wonderful birthday here on LJ, thanks to you guys. I am now *coughs* Fourty. I wonder who else here are around my age. They say that life starts at fourty, whatever that means. We shall see :D

And I want to share with you these birthday-fics, all of them are of my favourite pairings, written by these lovely, talented people.

[livejournal.com profile] aina_baggins wrote this series of three ficlets, the story of Jacob/Ferris from the book 'As Meat Loves Salt'. Do go read the book if you haven't already! These 3 ficlets will give you a taste of what the book is like. Absolutely awesome, the book as well as the ficlets.

From [livejournal.com profile] annwyn55, not only did she write an Orlijah but one that turns my knees into jellies - Slave!Elijah and Emir!Orlando. Go here for the sinfully delicious Orlijah vignette, and [livejournal.com profile] annwyn55, I hope that is just the prologue of a long, long series!

Dear [livejournal.com profile] grievous_angel has penned a very poignant Frodo/Sam ficlet here, in which Sam pined for his Frodo. Written in her usual flawless style, this story will without a doubt make you reach for your hankies. I did.

And trust [livejournal.com profile] honeyandvinegar to slither in my favourite reptile here in Cordelia. Three's certainly a crowd as Zeke finds out that he now has a rival!

Another Orlijah, this time from [livejournal.com profile] i_o_r_h_a_e_l, it's the first chapter of a WIP - Keeping The Dream Alive. And she sure knows what turns me on - it's poor!Elijah in a relationship with rich!Orlando. The angst!!!!

And lastly, a hilarious pic-fic from [livejournal.com profile] theartoffic. I must say she really does this sort of thing brilliantly. The spot-on pics that she chose and Orli's and Elijah's thoughts that went with them. The Ficpicspam will make you fall off the chair laughing, even if Orlijah is not your thing!

Enjoy!

I've never seen any of the "celestial phenomenons", well, except for the usual rainbows of course.

That sum halo is really beautiful! What a nice birthday greeting! I've never seen something like this before. Sometimes in winter we can see something like a second sun when the light is reflected in the ice crystals.

I really wonder how they noticed that in the first place. I tried looking up at the sun today and I couldn't. It was really bright and hot and it hurt my eyes.

*hugs you*

Yes! I remember your book :)

And I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. Or is it up already? I haven't really look at my flist and I was away for the weekend. The connection here at my workplace is soooooooo slow that I could finish a page of the book I'm reading now while waiting for it to download :/

Am reading Stephen King's 'Cell' at the moment in which people who use the cellphones went literally crazy. Yikes.

Oh, no. It's not up. I just sent chapter 2 to Julia, and will continue writing chapter 3. :D
