Sam and Dean had me totally and utterly wrecked, in a good way though

Thank you, jdsmylover for rec'cing For the End of my Broken Heart by Bloodkisses. I started reading it yesterday, finished it just now. Brought me back to those days when I first discovered Borderlines, All That I Had and Houseparty when I simply had to finish reading them. Skipped meals, slept late, dreamt about Casey and Zeke, Sam and Frodo and Viggo and Elijah.

Now, it's Sam and Dean that I couldn't get my mind off. Ya ampun, Shinta, but Dean kind of irritated me before this, but after Broken Heart, I'm beginning to understand him a little bit more. Mind you, I still prefer Sam but yeah, there's more to Dean than meet the eyes.

I really, really love that story. It's long, but not as long as Borderlines, ATIH or Houseparty. I wanted to know how the story ended but at the same time I didn't want it to finish, if you know what I mean. I found myself re-reading the same para a few times to make the story last as long as possible.

And it also got me thinking that if baylorsr were to continue writing Birthright, Casey's and Zeke's life would be somewhat similar to Sam and Dean; living from one cheap motel room to another, but instead of demons, they would be hunting aliens. And like Sam and Dean, these two would die for each other. Gosh, what I wouldn't give to see Birthright made into a TV series :)

Have just been checking my flist and there are at least 10 fics for me to read, yay!!

Btw, I can't seem to download any pics on LJ. I initially thought it was my computer but the other sites are okay. Anyone else having this problem?

I'm glad you enjoyed the fic as much as I did. I cant get it out of my head, it's incredible. I remember being the same with Borderlines too, reading and reading and reading and then discovering it was like 5am or something stupid.

My favourite part was at the diner when John saw them being tender with each other. Guh. And I was so scared that both of them are going to die at the end there!

Any other spn recs? There are so many sam and dean fics out there that I felt some of them are beginning to sound alike :/

Somehow I just knew there was something more about Dean. :') The fact that he isn't as brilliant as his brother, that he always tries hard to please his father, his being some kind of a mediator between his father and Sam.

But you should see the Season 1 finale when the demon says cruel things to him about how John and Sam feel about him, which is of course... not true. But who knows. Gosh, he leads such a tough life. *cries louder*

I think the one thing that put me off Dean is the way he seems to take things lightly, laughing things off with that cocky grin of his, you know, the grin that melts the heart out a certain girl ;)

But yeah, now I realize, there's more to him than the outward facade that he shows to the world. Hee, this is where fanfics come in, I guess, putting things right.

Oh my goodness, Cindi my sweet. Nobody is luring me anywhere. LotR was what brought me to LJ and LotR was what gave me lots and lots of wonderful and supportive friends. The friends that I have here are for keeps and that includes you, love.

I read a lot of House/Wilson fics, too and I have only one girl on my flist who's truly into that fandom. As for SPN, the friends that I have from that fandom are the ones that are already on my flist, people who are into LotR and Elijah as much as they are into SPN. There's no way I'm going to leave this fandom. Sam/Frodo, Orli/Elijah and Casey/Zeke are my first loves and I'll always be in love with them.

But hee, brotherly, incestious love is so hard to resist. And to tell the truth, I wasn't really into them until I read the above fic which is soooooooooo good and so hot and I'm such a pervert omg.

Oh yes there's incest alright but only in the fics. But it doesn't really take all that much to imagine them as lovers in the TV show as well. The looks they're always giving each other oh wow :D

There are so many layers to them, especially Dean, and this fic really opened my eyes to who they really are.
you mean who they really could be? or is there like real background canon in here -- background from the beginning of the show or something? or is just how this writer sees them?

Oh, there's a real background canon alright. To tell the truth, when I first watched the series, I wasn't really into it. I thought the boys are cute but that's it.Then I read that fic I rec'd you ( which is like the Borderlines of the SPN fandom for me ) and that's when I realized there's so much more to the series than meets they eye.

Their mum was killed by a demon when Sam was 6 months old and Dean 4 yrs old. Their Dad had never been the same then,making it his mission to hunt down that thing that killed their Mum. So Dean was more or less put in charge of his baby brother, practically raising Sam himself as their Dad went off "hunting" more and more frequently. Dean's a good son. He loves his father and brother very much and he's the one that keeps the family unit togather. He jumps when Dad asks him too. Sam is more headstrong,though. He craves for a "normal" life, and is at loggerheads with his Dad more often than not with Dean always as the peacemaker. The problem is Sam is more like his father than he likes to admit which is one of the reasons that he's always arguing with John ( the father ). He left the family to go to college ( which fairly broke Dean's heart btw ) but went back to his brother when their Dad left Dean to carry on hunting by himself ( and that broke Dean's heart once again, his Dad leaving him ). Btw, Sam had a girlfriend while in college and Jess was also killed by the same demon that killed their mother ( I think there's a reason for that but we haven't reached that part over here ). So there you are, their background, which is fairly canon. Sam is the center of Dean's life and when his father put baby-Sam in his arms during the demon-incident, John made him promise to look after his brother always and that's what he has been doing since then. And if you notice, Dean always takes the bed nearer the door when they're sleeping in all those motels.

As for the fics, there are hundreds, maybe thousands of them, I really have to wade through them because some are quite bad but the excellent ones really took my breath away. I love Wincest but it takes a really good writer to write a good incest-fic. I love the gen ones too because the brotherly love is always there even when there's no sex. And you do know that vsh is in the middle of writing an spn fic, don't you?

whoot! i love you, layne. thank you. i am pretty interested in this. i have a feeling i am going to be more into the gen fics. i love gen. i just don't like lotr fps gen, for some reason. maybe because there's already plenty of it waaaaaaaaaaay mo betta, written by tolkien himself.

i was really hoping that vsh was writting something. i jujst. my stomach sank a little when i saw the spn post and you two in there. i wannid in too!

I love you too, baby. I'm really hoping that you'd give that fic a try. I remember squeeing about Borderlines ( that was quite a marathon squee, do you remember?) with you when we first got to know each other and I'd love to have lots and lots more squeeing sessions with you :DD

I think she a Dean's girl. But like I said, you may like one brother better than the other one but you simply cant hate the other!

I used to find Dean a bit irritating but not anymore. He has these layers, you see :) while Sam is more open. That blog entry that I linked you to, with that pic of Sam and Dean with Sam saying that Dean never talk about his feelings, that's pretty much what Sam always said about his brother in the series.
