Yeah, I know, that movie is like, 10 yrs old or something? And yet I've never seen it. But I know it's a great movie, just that I never got the chance to watch it until last night.

Oh boy. I think I fell in love with Hugh Grant all over again. I've always like that guy, not to the extent of lusting over him or anything, but yes, I like him. I love all of his movies - Love Actually ( omg the Prime Minister danced at No. 10! ), Notting Hill ( not a big fan of Julia Roberts but I liked her in that movie, because of Grant ), About a Boy, Mickey Blue Eyes ( I laughed so hard when he was trying to talk like a Mafia, and that small plastic container to put that dead body in LOL ) Bridget Jones!!! ...

I think it's great that even though most of his characters were somewhat similar ( bumbling, cute, mostly a loser ), he somehow managed to make them different, that you'd remember each character differently, if you know what I mean.

And hee, ever since I read [livejournal.com profile] deleerium's Glitter, I could never look at Grant without thinking of his character in that fic. One of the best threesomes ever. And I'm not even into threesomes!

Anyway, back to 'Four Weddings'. I really love that movie. I thought Andie McDowell was exquisite in it. And the funnies are really hilarious. Rowan Atkinson performing one of the weddings, the younger brother, the friends OMG.
Heh, nothing like British humour to make your day *chuckles*

You know what I like the most about that movie? That WH Auden poem read at the funeral. Read with thick Irish (Scottish?) accent. Breaks my heart every time. And oh, yes, the signing brother. He inspired me to learn sign language.

Scottish, I think. Not that I'm an expert in British accents ( heh ) but he kind of sounded like Billy Boyd :D

You know sign language? That's so cool!

Nooo... I don't know sign language. I learned the alphabets of BSL then gave up. Inspiration only went so far without motivation. :D

If you haven't seen "Music and Lyrics", you MUST. It's now my favorite Hugh Grant movie ever.

It really is Hugh Grant's forte, isn't it, all those romantic comedies. But he did it so well that you could never really tire of him doing the same type of roles over and over again.

Btw, that friend of Hugh, the one who read that poem at the funeral, was that a Scottish accent?

I haven't seen that movie in years... Yes, remember Rowan Atkinson being hilarious! This film was one of Hugh's best, I think.

You read Glitter....

I feel almost evil when I read it because Elijah and Orli belong together, TOGETHER I tell you Mr Grant!! Doesn't stop me reading or really enjoying it though.

I didn't actually cry, but it was moving, some parts of the stories. I think the last chick flick that made me cry was 'Shall We Dance'. That moment when Richard Gere stepped off that escalator and danced with Susan Sarandon, awww ...

Hee, I thought you were talking about one of the characters in '4 Weddings'!

No, I didn't know about the movie. I didn't even know that Grant has ever played a gay character! Now I MUST get that movie, or at least read the book. Thank you, Steph!!

I loved this movie!!! And still do. Hugh is adorable. I can't help to compare him to a lost puppy sometimes though. :P

(Maurice I believe is a completely different movie. With a gay Hugh Grant if I remember correctly, could be mistaken though.)

*grins*

Lost puppy! *points to my current no.1 lost puppy icon*

But yes, I agree with you. Hugh does have that lost puppy look, the look that makes you forgive him for anything, even that debacle with that Divine (?) girl.

Hmmm, I wonder when and to whom he'll marry. If ever. I was a litle bit heartbroken when he broke up with Elizabeth Hurley.
