I almost gave In Reverse written by sodakey a miss. Read the first few paras, saw that the story has 31 chapters, not a Wincest and for the life of me I couldn't remember why I bookmarked it ( there was no summary provided, just that the story was set after 'Faith' ), or who rec'd it to me in the first place. Yup, I was *this* close to hitting the back-button.
And oh boy, oh boy, I am SO GLAD that I persevere, because the story is like, AMAZING and completely AWESOME. Truly brilliant.
The story started with a flsahback to Sam and Dean with John on a hunt gone wrong in Lander, Wyoming 1996, after which it fastforwarded to the present time, with John missing and Dean just healing from the events in 'Faith'. And this was where things started to get interesting because who would they ran into but Sam's old college buddies. Who insisted that Sam ( and Dean ) join them. Things predictably got very, very angsty from then on, with Dean very much feeling out-of-place and insecure, seeing Sam interacting with his friends.
This is not Wincest, but the love is very much there, so much so that some of Sam's friends felt that something was just not right, that they were pathologically co-dependent, and blaming Dean for what happened to Sam.
A very intense story; the supernatural side of it is amazing, as is the relationship between Sam and Dean, how they found each other in new ways, how they discover that there is a difference in between want and need.
I love my Wincests, but somehow, this story is it for me. I can't reccommend this story highly enough.

And don't you think thay the icon that you made here is so appropriate to the story?

And the icon is appropriate anywhere if it's about them. :')
