OMG I'm so in love with this song right now!! And omg, I miss the boys so very much!!
The main singer is not Steve Carlson, it's someone called Roark Critchlow, and HE is the one who needs to practice. His voice has a rough edge that didn't match Steve Carlson's, or Jensen's from his little REO snippet on the show.
Now and then you can hear a different voice singing a line or two, such as in your truncated clip that started this whole thing. And that, I'm guessing, is Jensen. His voice is much superior to Roark's. Even though he needs to enunciate a bit more. Oh, and um, his falsetto is a bit odd, too, but that's a hard thing for a guy to do well. :)
