Sweet dreams, Dean ...

Dean sleeping in 'Bedtime Stories', looking almost child-like with his hair neatly combed and all, and the covers tucked up around him ( I like to imagine Sam doing that to him. After Dean had fallen asleep of course, he would never allow Sam to do it, of course ). He looked so vulnerable there, and maybe that was why they had him sleeping like that for that particular episode - to remind us ( as if we need reminding ) of Dean's Last Year, and you know, it somehow upped the angst factor, especially with Sam standing nearby, just looking at him while making his decisions.



Because you can't have him sleeping like this, can you, to get that kind of effect, all sprawled out with his arms and legs all over the bed, his hair mussed up and the covers all tangled up at his feet. Sexy much, ya?

chloe_amethyst's put up a post on sleep positions here a little while back, and funnily enough, Dean's sleep position in 'Bedtime Stories' is called 'The Soldier' while the second one is called 'The Freefall'. While I wouldn't exactly call Dean "quiet and reserved" before, but with his year drawing to a close, maybe we'd get to see more to that side of Dean. Brash and gregarious on the surface, they are nervy and thin-skinned underneath seems more like the Dean we know.

Any thoughts?


And a teensy-weensy poll. Which one of the sleeping Deans gets to you the most? I know that I feel like cuddling and petting him in the first pic while the second pic makes me want to jump him, so I gues you can't really compare, but which one affect you more?

That was one of my favourite scenes ever, Sam looking down at just-woke-up Dean in 'Phantom Traveller'. One of the slashiest, too!

I'm thinking delibrate. The covers and the bedside lamp and just the way he slept and Sam going off to do what he did. He was the protecter before that, and I think they wanted us to see him in a new light, as the protected instead.

Sam is more than up to the job *nods*. The way he bulked up, those shoulders and those abs OMG. Remember how lanky he was in the first few episodes? And look how ripped he is now. Dean needs to lose his layers, too, that he does. To complete the picture ;)

Yes, he does. He wears that stuff like armor, which I suppose is kind of the point. He really does look so much more vulnerable without it, like in "In My Time of Dying." Of couse, subtext aside, I just very much enjoy being able to see more of him.

The first pic is lovely. Dean sleeping is a great weakness of mine. I just want to sit there and stare at him all night.

But that second one? Mpppht...that makes me wanna smack him on the ass and ride him to town. So yeah, twizzled.

This is the first time I noticed the popcorn next to the bed in the second pic. Snacking in bed, Dean? Bad boy.

I think that's the one, yes. And I think that maybe they uhm, share their boxers. The ones that Dean put in the itching powder in 'Hell House', those looked a lot like the ones that Dean usually wore. Buy 4-get-one-free set of black boxers from Walmart, perhaps?

I like the first Dean because I just finished reading the best fic ever, "Blind Spot", and Dean needs lots of care and tucking in by Sammy, and even by Bobby at times. Whoah, what a great fic. Perfect Dean and Sam, lots of tension, scary supernatural stuff, all canon. Amazing writing. Made me cry.

What got me the most about that scene in the first pic was the way Sam was looking at him, here (http://www.stripedwall.com/gallery.php?image=/television/Supernatural/SPNS3/3x05_bluebear_74/03x05-bedtime_stories172.jpg&mode=fullsize). He looked so determined there, wanting to save Dean at all costs. And wanting to look after Dean the way Dean had looked after him all those years.

And I have gone for "innocent, child-like look" because vunerable!Dean gets me each and every time and he does look so vunerable in that pic. *laughs* Oh but I am a weird fruit. I had a long standing joke with one mate who had Jared and I had Jensen (in our wonderful imaginary world OBVIOUSLY) and she would do all the things you would imagine a Jared!girl would do to Jared and I would make Jensen do my filing!

But seriously. Not many people make me want to cook for them. To me that is a bit like a sign of love. If someone gives me the urge to feed them then I really really like them. Anytime my husband is having a hard time I cook endless amounts of food for him. Dinner, cookies, cakes, desserts, home made bread....
