the chill factor
Nov. 26th, 2005 07:44 amShould I or shouldn't I go watch The Exorcism of Emily Rose? I'm not much into horror flicks. They scare me. The last one that I saw was The Exorcist and visions of Linda Blair turning her head 360 degrees still haunt me until today. And when she spoke in that other voice? And when she spewed out that vomit?
I've been giving all those Korean's The Ring, The Cello or whatever films that have posters showing young girls with uprolling eyeballs or bloodshot-eyes a definite miss. But I really want to watch Emily Rose. It sounds different and intriguing. But would it haunt me the way The Exorcist did and still does?
Should I watch it?
Anybody?
btw, hubby said he's NOT going to go watch it so I'll have to watch it alone.
What if I'm the only person in the theatre?

Hope you enjoy it when you get to see it, honey.

Date: 2005-11-26 04:19 am (UTC)oh dear oh dear that's bad. that's very bad.
I've seen some of the images on the TV trailers and they do look disturbing.
I think I might wait for the dvd after all. That way I can press the mute button anytime I want.
Thanks Julia!

Date: 2005-11-26 03:14 am (UTC)~Dagon: Husband loves this one and watched it with me in the room; BIG mistake. I was on the comp, but turned to see the ONE BIG gory scene from the flick, involving a guy tied up and getting his skin peeled off. Uhhuh.
~The Shining: While I ADORE this movie, I watched it really young. To this day I cannot, cannot, CANNOT watch the "decaying woman in the tub" scene. When I watched it with my husband years after not seeing it (he hadn't) I literally closed my eyes and blocked my ears, and had him tap my shoulder when it was done.
~The Ring: won't watch. Husband did. Told me not to. Corpses=big no-no for me.

Date: 2005-11-26 04:27 am (UTC)I've watched The Shining but on TV so it's not as scary as it would be on the big screen. You know, I think I would have watched some of the horror movies if I have a pair of strong arms to hold me during some of the more gory scenes. As it is my husband would never watch one even if he's Paid to do so :-(
