From the Urban Dictionary: 1. get the hell out of dodge
To leave somewhere immediately, to evacuate or scram.
"Get the hell out of Dodge" is a reference to Dodge City, Kansas, which was a favorite location for westerns in the early to mid 20th century. Most memorably, the phrase was made famous by the TV show "Gunsmoke," in which villians were often commanded to "get the hell out of Dodge." The phrase took on its current meaning in the 1960s and 70s when teenagers began to use it in its current form.
Getting out of Dodge is a reference to Dodge City, Kansas. In a ton of Westerns (eg Gunsmoke), the bad guys would be told by the good guys to 'get the heck out of Dodge.' It became slang for leaving someplace in a hurry.
That, and I've been seeing some icons with that word on them. But the man himself using that word, wow, and I wasn't sure of the meaning, different sites give slightly different meanings, but I love brotherly romance best!
I guess that's the closest they could get, being on national TV and all. I didn't really watch that intro, didn't want to be spoiled, but someone mentioned that he used that word and of course the first thing that came to my mind was brotherly romance - 'romance' being the keyword rather than 'brotherly'.
verb -mans-ing 1. The act of wooing a fellow male friend for the purpose of becoming closer. 2. Going to unusual lengths in an attempt to become closer with another male friend
Like, asking one's best buddy to move in with you, perhaps? HEE!
Wow. That boy sure does make long term plans, huh? LOL.
Let's checkout that weird timeline I mentioned a while back.
2007 - Jared buys house. November 2007 - Thanksgiving in Van. December 2007 - Christmas in Texas. February 2008 - Engagement February 2008 - Miserable Jensen in Australia with D-bot. March 2008 - Miserable Jared at Basketball game. April 2008 - Return to work after writers strike. May 2008 - Cozy wrap party pic. May 2008 - Jensen looks for a place to stay and dumps his stuff at Jared's place. June 2008 - Jared and Sandy become unengaged (we don't know the exact date) Summer 2008 - Boys are busy, busy, busy. July 2008 - Jared goes to Australia and literally loses his shit. Gives the 'deer in headlights' look when mod wants to ask a personal question. Gives a sigh of relief when the question is about video games. July 2008 - Back to work. Jensen too busy to for a place. Jared graciously volunteers his place. July 2008 - Comic Con. A subdued puppy (Jared) and a pissy kitty cat (Jensen) attend Comic Con. Countless fans wonder what the fuck is going on. Later in the day, the pissy kitty makes D-bot carry her own shit and keeps her as far away as possible. September 2008 - Buddy TV breaks the news that Jared and Jensen live together. The internets goes kablooey in 2 seconds flat. September 2008 - Red Bull. Jared and Jensen show up looking very domesticated. Fans get a taste of pissy Jensen. We find that Jensen can't keep his eyes to himself. September 2008 - Jensen Padalecki was introduced. The internets go kablooey for the second time in less than a month. Google threatens to sue. September 2008 - Jared attends con. Tries to explain the situation, but only makes it worse.
Just my overactive observations. Did I miss anything? LOL.
By the way, I found this Jared quote on SPN fan wiki - "Just be yourself and the right guy will come along, whether it be today, tomorrow, or next year. It'll happen!"
LOL. Did he really say that? Who is the lucky guy? LOL.
No, not the comics, though I knew about that hunchback something or other. He mentioned the word bromance in one of his spoiler intros to future eps, I didn't watch it myself but a friend told me about it.
Here's (http://katikat.livejournal.com/606094.html) a more comprehensive definations to the word.
Oh yes, I just came across a post referring to that spoilerly interview. I won't watch it either. Nothing bets being a spoilerphobe, as far as viewing pleasure goes, but I'm sure I miss out on a lot of inside goss from not seeing/reading the interviews.
I love that in the past Kripke had vehemently denied the chemistry between the boys but these days he freely admits and seems to be encouraging the Bromance. I'm not complaining, believe me!
You know, when they said Hinton's a fan, I have high hopes that she would write an episode or two, the way Stephen King did for The X-Files. She'd so totally could write about them growing up, or their earlier years. Not so early though, I wouldn't want them to get others actors to play them!

Oh but I thought Kripke has always said that the boys have awesome chemistry together, right from the start?
Do you think SE Hinton being a fan has encouraged Kripke to come up with all those reference of bromance and beast with two backs and whatnots? *g*
