Saw it last night. While I'm not a fan of either Reeves or Connelly, both hubby and I love such storylines, and it's not bad! It's not ID4 good, but it's quite riveting and Reeves is perfect for that character he played, which doesn't need any sort of overt emotional display ... so, yeah :))

But you know who we thought would have been even more perfect as Klaatu? Misha Collins! That unnerving, emotionless stare, the stillness, oh he would have been an even better choice to play the alien visitor, chapped lips and all.

Will Smith's son, Jaden, was awesome, and he's so CUTE omg! I don't quite like his character though, I don't think I'd ever have the patience of Helen when confronted with such behaviour. But oh, I see so much of his Dad in him *LOVES*

Kathy Bates is awesome as usual, but I just saw her as Holly's perpetually unhappy mother in 'PS I LOve You' and it's kind of hard to really see her as as the hardened Secretary of State. And speaking of the Secretary, where oh where is the President and the Vice Prsident in all this?

And another thing, that robocop thing? It looked a lot like the Academy Award Oscar thing LOL.

Quite an enjoyable movie overall.

I haven't seen the original one, so I have no idea how the re-make would compare to it. But on its own, it's not quite a bad movie. I hope your Mum would enjoy it! Are you going to watch it with her?

It's about an alien who came down to earth in human form, to stop the planet earth from being destroyed by humans. I've always love anything alien-oriented ( you know, X-Files and all ) so I love this!

It's not spectacularly brilliant or anything, and there were a quite a number of silly things in it, but I enjoyed it all the same!

I think this is Jaden Smith's second movie. The first one is The Pursuit of Happiness, if I'm not mistaken. He's cute. I can just imagine him as a handosme young man in a few years time!

Hee, if you go see it, you'll see what I mean when I said Misha Collins would be perfect as the alien. And Klaatu never really said what he was, so could very well have been an angel sent to start the apocalypse!!

I enjoyed the movie quite a lot, and Jaden's performance just knocked me out. He's amazing at his age, and he's so cute.

I don't think anything will ever be as good as ID4. I remember sitting through that horrific movie, The Day After Tomorrow, wondering if I could get my money back.

I was going to see The Day..., but when I saw that Reeves was the lead, I decided to pass it over. It's a shame, 'cause I love Jaden Smith. He's a cutie pie.

The Day After Tomorrow is the one with Jake Gyllenhal, isn't it? I saw it on DVD.

Reeves is not so bad in that movie. Like I said, I'm not a fan, but I think they cast him because his alien character really didn't have any emotions whatsoever, so that suited him just fine. But having said that, I wouldn't want him to be Castiel!!
