And because [livejournal.com profile] i_o_r_h_a_e_l has hers, I want to have mine too!

My Top Ten scenes from season 5. Only I couldn't do ten as there are scenes that I just cannot not include. So here you go, in no particular order, my thirteen most memorable scenes which range from the uber painful to the uber hilarious. And what-do-you-know, two of them do not include Dean *gasps*

There is painful and there is angsty. These first three scenes are definitely painful they hurt on so many levels. The phrase cut like a knife doesn't even begin to describe how I felt when watching these.

Sympathy For The Devil : The brothers at the hospital parking lot where my hopes of them making-up were dashed to the ground when Dean said, "I tried Sammy, but I can't keep pretending that everything is alright. It's never going to be."

Good God, Y'All. Sam : Maybe it's best that we go our separate ways.
And Dean said yes. No fight, no argument. And, and ... omg ... when Dean offered the Impala to Sam ... *cries*

Free To Be You And Me. This was a gorgeous sequence, Dean on his own, Sam on his own, perfect juxtaposition between those two. And it was like an arrow straight to the heart.

Ahh, Lucifer's first scene with Sam. And what an intense moment that was. And quite easily ( for me ), Jared's best performance of season 5, the whole show even. And Mark Pellegrino, that was actually the moment when I first thought that he was perfect as Lucifer. The tone of his voice, his expressions - perfect, as was Jared's. And when Jess's face transformed to Nick's, that was super, super creepy.

Two Deans! We had had two Deans before, a short scene in Dream A Little Dream Of Me but this was one whole episode! Thank you, Kripke. Another perfect, intense scene.
Photobucket

The End. And here we have Lucifer!Sam saying, "Why would I want to kill this beautiful thing. The last, perfect handiwork of God." Eeeee, why did I had this feeling he was actually talking about Dean. He wasn't, I guess, but it felt like it, the way he was holding that rose, glancing over his shoulder at Dean ( cue lightning and thunder ). And his chilling parting shot, "Whatever you do, whatever details you alter, we will always end up here. I win." Fairly gave me goosebumps, that he did.

A thrilling scene worthy of any action movie, Dean being chased by the Croats, then shot at by the army. Heart-stopping much? You bet.

Free To Be You And Me. The Cas and Dean Show. Oh Cas, how I adore you. But you know, even though I love him, I've never got any slashy vibe between them, affection and respect, yes, but nothing remotely sexual. Until Dean went and fixed Cas's tie. It was like a flashbulb moment for me, finally getting why there're so many Cas/Dean shippers. I still don't ship them ( Sam/Dean is still my OTP thank you very much ) but I got it. I laughed out loud and long when Cas tried to impersonate an FBI agent ( or rather, Dean tried to get him to impersonate one ). Awesome!

Changing Channels. The whole episode is one awesome, hilarious scene, one after another. Dean squirming in the presence of Dr Sexy, the CSI parody, complete with the slow-mo and sunglasses and all. And Dean driving Sampala! Better than the original and the remake put together oh yes :)
Photobucket

Abandon All Hope. I am a mother and a daughter so this scene is doubly angsty for me. It wasn't painful the way the first three scenes were. Those had me screaming nooooooooooo, but this one had a sense of inevitability to it, of finality. No way Ellen could have left Jo there all alone. Just. No. Great performance by Samantha Ferris and Alona Tai.

The End. The Phone Call. Sam saying, "Dean it's me." I stopped breathing for a moment there I tell you. A phone call that surpassed the one in Scarecrow, the one in Last Distance Call. There was such a resignation to Dean, of hope all but crushed in Sam. I was crying inside for both of them, but again, this felt different from the first three scenes above. It was painful, but somehow not ... heart-breaking. I can't quite explain it. Dean saying, "Whatever we have between us, love, family ..." Or maybe because there was no anger in them, in Dean, just ... resignation. Or maybe it was just me projecting my own acceptance/resignation to Sam and Dean going their separate ways, less of the denial and anger of before. Maybe.

Another Cas and Dean moment. It was just so awww-inducing, so heart-warming that I felt like wrapping them both in a warm, fuzzy blanket. When Dean said to Cas "Don't ever change", and when Cas said "We had an appointment" with that look on his face - *happy sigh* - love and affection ...

Okay, if I had to choose only one scene, this would be It. It has such a surreal feel to it. And oh, I've been wanting this since forever. Better than the reunion scene in Lazarus Raising, more heart-felt somehow, even without the hug-that-never-happened. Dean's first word, "Sam", said with a slight tremble to his voice. "We're all that we've got. We keep each other human. We make our own future." Perfect.

Side note : Ahaha, Dean is so what the guys in Flash Forward need lol.

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis and [livejournal.com profile] raloria for the lovely caps!.

Wonderful picspam! <333

Once again, I'm convinced we share a brain. ;-)

FYI I thought the rose and the words are for Dean too! *nod head*

I noticed there are quite a few scenes from "The End". For me, it's the most memoriable (and best) episode.

I thought of you when I wrote about the rose!!!

Yes, The End is the best for me followed by Changing Channels, Abandon All Hope, The Real Gh0stbusters, Free To Be You and Me, and Good God Y'all. What about you?

Hehe, roses! ♥

Let's see, my favorites (S5 so far) are:

The End
Changing Channels
The Real Ghostbusters
Sympathy for the Devil, Good God Y'all (tie)
I Believe the Children Are Our Future
The Curious Case of Dean Winchester
Free To Be You and Me
Fallen Idols

Notice I left out "Abandon All Hopes". It's not that I don't like it, I just don't know where to put it. I cried and cried when watching it. It also has some really nifty scenes which I really like. But I cannot say it's among my top three favorites (at this time), yet I felt it oughtta be. Long story short, I'm very conflicted over AAH.

Yes, that was. Did you want me to list the top ones I like only?

Oops, I listed all the episodes from the one I liked most to the one I liked least. I haven't decided where I want "Abandon All Hopes" on the spectrum yet.
