Reality shows round-up. Sort of.
Feb. 26th, 2010 07:17 pmThe Amazing Race 16.
A good set of teams this season with two teams of brothers ( gosh, what is it with me and brothers ). No sisters!team though. Haven't been for quite some time, the last time being Lena and Kristy many seasons ago and I loved them.
Anyway, the premier was quite fun and for the first time ever ( I think ) the teams had to take public transports to the airport! No Mercedez for them this time. Ha, cutting expenses maybe? I remember Jerry Bruckheimer saying that TAR was an expensive show to run and they very nearly cancelled it after season 4. Thank goodness they won the Emmy Award that year, and every year after that so there was no more talk of cancelling the show.
Haven't bonded with any of the teams so far though I do think the cowboy brothers were damn lucky. And the llama loved them! I was kind of expecting that challenge to not be a problem for them but I thought they were just going to wrestle that poor animal to the ground, them being cowboys and all but oh my, they llama-whispered to them LOL.
Survivor : Heroes v Villains.
Okay, those first two episodes were fun, and that first reward challenge? Brutal.
Quite a number of them I didn't recognize because I missed quite a lot of seasons but the ones that I recognized I love. And I think it's cute when Coach raised his hand to Jeff's asking the Villians on who among them thought that they had been wrongly placed. I kind of agree with Coach. I mean, I don't think he's a villain, not exactly anyway. As for Rob, I'm torn about him being cast as one. I didn't like him before ( I didn't like him in TAR either ) but he had grown on me this season and I ... like him now!
JT is as sweet as ever but whoa, he's a bit manipulative this time around. Quite a change from the old JT and I'm not quite sure yet about him this season. And Rupert - I loved him before, but not so much now and I can't quite pinpoint the reason why. Maybe his adorableness has been getting a bit old.
The one person that I like from the get go is Colby. I didn't see Survivor Australia so I didn't know him from before but what I see of him now I LIKE. A LOT!!!
So the three persons I"m rooting right now are Colby ( oh yes ), Rob and Coach. And speaking of Coach, why is Tyson so quiet? I've yet to hear him speak a single word and he was so outspoken during his first outing on Survivor. Haha, maybe he had learnt from that.
Third episode tonight!
The Biggest Loser : Asia.
I'm not into Carlo. Heck, I'm not into the red team at all and I'm glad they're gone one by one. But I can't help being impressed with Carlo. Man, I swear he has a six-pack now and I just knew that he was going to be the biggest loser in the last episode he looked downright skinny! I thought he was going to lose 10kg, and hey, he almost did! 9 kgs. Wow. But losing all those kilos in such a short time is doing terrible things to his skin, that man needs a nip/tuck appointment once the show is over.
Btw, what's up with Kristy? It seems like she's putting on weight ( and isn't that just ironic ) in the promo-talk that she's doing for the show ( the one where she looks very pretty with the heavy eyeliner on ). Ahaha, it'd be hilarious if the trainers gained weight while the contestants lost theirs!
American Idol.
Casey James!!! He was awesome and would have been even more awesome if he had performed without that iditiotic grin plastered on his face. One tip for him. Don't look at Kara DioGuardi when you sing. Just. Don't. And I truly hope they won't continue with the Kara-Casey ... thing, whatever ... because I thought it took a lot from his peformance. At least when it was Paula it was kind of cute but it just isn't with Kara. I did think Simon overstepped the line when he said what he said to Kara though.
And Crystal Bowersox delivered! I really love that girl. She has such an open, honest demeanor and I thought her performance was awesome. Didi Benami was a disppointment though. I love that song and I like her but her renditon of it was quite awful. I hope she'll still be around next week though.

Date: 2010-02-27 01:40 am (UTC)Hee hee, yeah, poor Rob :DD
I wonder what their wives felt at home watching them snuggling with the girls at night. I mean, Russell is married, right? And I think Coach brought someone whom he said was his girlfriend during his season's final episode. Even Rob was huddled in between two women! Heh, but I guess they'd feel even wierder to snuggle with the men :)
Last night's challenge was fun! Lol they looked awful caked in mud. And did I see Tyson giving JT a peck on the cheek? I thought that so sweet especially when I don't think they were all that chummy during Survivor Tocantins. A squeeful moment for my slashy-prone heart heheh.

Date: 2010-02-27 01:43 am (UTC)I'm rooting for anyone in the blue team! I like their trainer and I really dislike the red team ( the contestants and the trainer ) so as long as it's someone from the blue team :)
You know, each time I watch the show, I feel so very motivated to go exercise, oh, for about 5 minutes!
