My finales.

It's been quiet on the TV fronts lately, all the finales of my shows aired, three of them never to be seen again. Bye-bye Jack and Dr Jack, and Mark Benford :(

All amazing, the finales. I shed tears in all of them, some more than the others.

1. The Amazing Race - my feel-good, all-time favourite show. It never, never fails to make me cry when they talked about what it meant to be on the race with their partner. And Daniel and Jordan deserved to win.

2. Supernatural - what can I say that haven't been said already. This show owns me and I'm so glad that we'll be having at least one more season with the brothers.

3. 24 - I'm going to miss the people of CTU! Jack looking up at the skies, saying his goodbye silently *cries*

4. Survivor - I cried when Rupert said that it gave him great honour to write Sandra's name for the second time. What can I say, I cried easily.

5. I couldn't decide in what order I should put these 3 shows in, so, tied for 5th place : Lost, Bones and House. I'm so glad that I decided to watch the final season of Lost. It was good, and to be able to finally get some sort of answer to the rigmarole that was Lost. And Bones and Booth going their separate ways *sniffles* And House amputating that girl's leg. Grand episodes, all three. Though I must say here that I thought the second last episodes of both House and Bones were better than the finales themselves.

8. CSI : NY. Another thrilling finale. Not as good as last season's finale but still thrilling nevertheless. I just knew that Casey was going after Danny and I was so scared for the baby! But ... Danny and Lindsay ... I don't know, but I thought there was no chemistry between them. I didn't feel the love and I thought they were just doing it by rote. It felt so dry between them. My apologies to the Danny/Lindsay shippers but well, that's what I felt! The ending was a super cliffhanger though, with the shot ringing and all. I think, I hope that was Lindsay shooting at Casey. Unless they really wanted it to make Danny-get-shot two finales in a row!

7. The American Idol - I'm sorry to see Simon go. He was the life and breath of the show. I loved his acerbic remarks even though lately they sounded almost tame and repetitive. Yes, I guess it's time for him to go. And now if only they'd bring in NPH to replace him!

Btw, it must have been quite a bummer for the two finalists, Simon stealing the limelight from them. At least that's what it felt like to me!

8. Flash Forward - I'm sad to see this show go. And I was sad to see the one thing that I most hope would not happen, happened. I've been getting annoyed with Olivia and Mark lately but still I didn't want them to break-up. I had my hopes up with the second to last episode when it looked like the flash forwards wouldn't happen. I cheered when Olivia took her daughter away, hated it when she went back to Lloyd. I didn't mind the other FFs, well, maybe not the Tracy-lives one, but argh, I was hoping that Mark and Olivia would reunite!

I know it's not the latest season but you don't watch NCIS? I mean the original one?

Goodness. It's really hard for me to concentrate on more series right now. I didn't even watch AI finale. *headdesk*

NCIS is on AXN, isn't it? AXN is going all out in their promotion for it! Maybe I'll go watch it one of these days, all it takes is one good episode and I'm hooked.

You didn't watch your Lee during the finale?

No, I didn't watch Lee. I wonder why. *sighs*

I forget if NCIS is in AXN or FOX. Thanks to the marathon I got hooked. Michael Weatherly's character reminds me so much of Dean. :D

You have Fox on your cable TV? Or did you download it from the internet?

We have it here. *frowns* Is it only in Indonesia, perhaps?

The American Fox TV network? Do you subscribe it through your cable TV provider?

*feels faint*

You have all those from your Indovision? Our Astro provides less than half of that!!

Oh dear, yes, we have so many. I take the most complete package, by the way, with all those FOX, AXN, and the likes, plus movie package and sports.

Does Astro offer packages, too? But the content is not that much?

This is one of the reasons why it's just so hard to concentrate on what to see sometimes. *g*

These (http://www.astro.com.my/getastro/packages/packages_lineup.asp?x=d) are what we have. We have a lot of packages that are exclusively Malay or Chinese or Indian. We subcribe to only a few of the packages!

Ah, I see. Well, I'm not going to be too happy with Astro then. :( *soothes you*

But then I might be more economical. :) Oh, and you get World Cup? Cable doesn't get it here. :(

This is me, butting in.

I've seen quite a few NCIS episodes, though not all by a long stretch. This latest season has gotten tired and, aside from a couple of truly stellar episodes, the characters have become almost caricatures of themselves. But...earlier eps are a lot of fun.

If you want a taster, try the episode "SWAK." It's in the 2nd season, I believe, but it's a good one.

I'll look it up on the internet. Not sure what season they're currently showing on our TV.

Thanks, Kay!

Re: FF, I was disappointed with Olivia/Lloyd thing as well. It all looked fine and her turn-about seemed forced and not in character. As did Bryce's (since I was more invested in his storyline) turn-about on his Japanese girl vs. Nicole. Both him and Olivia were adamant at going the opposite direction than their predicted future, and then all of the sudden, came running back. Made no sense character-wise. Oh, and I really hated that they went for "Lloyd's kid is a savant" route (even if it was heralded, like, ten episodes ago). Gads, this theme is sooo overused.

I was annoyed with them for following what they saw in their FFs. I wonder what happened to Zoe in Hawaii. Dem didn't die so I guess what she saw in her FF didn't happen. Though I guess in her own way, she was mourning too, if she really broke-up with Demetri I mean.

Was the Red Sky episode of V the finale, too? I was on the look-out for new episode but couldn't find any.

I was pretty underwhelmed this entire season with AI. Simon's always been my favorite judge but he seemed done with the show most of the season. I'll probably watch again next season, just out of curiosity, but if I don't like the replacement judge, and the talent pool seems just as weak as it was this season, I doubt I'll stick with it. And that saddens me because I do love music, and I love watching an artist blossom on that show like David Cook did. Lee DeWyze *almost* did that, but he doesn't have the voice that Cookie has--the jury is still out for me whether he'll make killer music or just fade away. Crystal was great all season but she never really changed at all, not that she needed to, and I wonder if at the end, that's part of why she didn't win. Seems AI watchers like the ones that grow and develop before their eyes a little better than the ones that come onto the show without seeming to need any help. And that's the area where I think Simon will be most missed: giving that sharp criticism that might sting but that will ultimately help an artist succeed. It won't be the same show without him.

David Cook wasn't in the finale result show, was he? I was disappointed he and Lambert weren't there.

Lee made very good song choices all the way through ( though I couldn't help thinking of Hallelujah as being Tim Urban's ). I think my problem with him is that he held back. Maybe it was just his shyness but still ...

No, Cookie wasn't in it--not really sure why, other than it was probably a scheduling conflict. And it would have been nice to see Lambert although I don't know if many non-winners were in the finale. At least we got to see him as a mentor.

And yeah, I think Lee's shyness is something he'll really have to work hard to overcome. He never did look comfortable. It'll be interesting to see how he seems on other venues. A lot of times you see an entirely different artist once they're away from the "fishbowl" of the judges. I saw Casey James on Ellen the week he was voted off and he was entirely different--singing *his* style of bluesy rock, relaxed and having a really good time and very entertaining.

I'm so glad Supernatural will be back next season, and so will Bones. I hope they'll bring them all back together again. I miss them already.

I initially thought that the episode before the finale was the finale, that one was so exciting! Eeeps, that psycho woman was super creepy! I'm glad Hodgins and Angela got married, they're so sweet together :))

So... all these shows you see as they air in the US?

My TV "finales", ie the shows I watch on TV that now has summer break, are (in no specific order)

Amazing Race, ended a couple of weeks ago. (Old episodes) They might air more in the summer though as they have before. Will have to keep my eyes open.

House (season 5 but not up to the finale yet),
NCIS (season 7 but not up to the finale yet),
True Blood (season 2 I think)

A few left of 24 and I assume Bones(latest season I think) will end shortly too.

Hmmm. What else... All of the CSI's but I don't really follow them that closely.

And I watch Stargate Universe too. Oh, and I watch Legend of the Seeker, because of certain LOTR "related" reasons. Neither has ended here yet but I also assume they will end shortly.

NO reality shows! Don't really like them. (Except TAR!) Watch the Idols occasionally but not following. I don't see how it can survive without Simon. He makes it fun to watch.

Yes, I saw them as they aired in the US. TAR and The American Idol, our local TV aired them at the same time as in the US. The rest of the shows I downloaded. The ones showing on TV are one season back, some even two seasons back.

I'm hoping that Neil Patrick Harris will replace Simon. He was a guest judge in one of the auditions and he was FUN!

I wish they didn't cancel the show. It has its faults of course, what show doesn't, and it can be irritating too, especially when most of them were determined to follow their FFs, their future guiding what they were doing now, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and found it entertaining. I'm shipping Dem/Janice and I was hoping that there was something between them, and now we'd never know.
