My finales.
Jun. 1st, 2010 05:26 pmIt's been quiet on the TV fronts lately, all the finales of my shows aired, three of them never to be seen again. Bye-bye Jack and Dr Jack, and Mark Benford :(
All amazing, the finales. I shed tears in all of them, some more than the others.
1. The Amazing Race - my feel-good, all-time favourite show. It never, never fails to make me cry when they talked about what it meant to be on the race with their partner. And Daniel and Jordan deserved to win.
2. Supernatural - what can I say that haven't been said already. This show owns me and I'm so glad that we'll be having at least one more season with the brothers.
3. 24 - I'm going to miss the people of CTU! Jack looking up at the skies, saying his goodbye silently *cries*
4. Survivor - I cried when Rupert said that it gave him great honour to write Sandra's name for the second time. What can I say, I cried easily.
5. I couldn't decide in what order I should put these 3 shows in, so, tied for 5th place : Lost, Bones and House. I'm so glad that I decided to watch the final season of Lost. It was good, and to be able to finally get some sort of answer to the rigmarole that was Lost. And Bones and Booth going their separate ways *sniffles* And House amputating that girl's leg. Grand episodes, all three. Though I must say here that I thought the second last episodes of both House and Bones were better than the finales themselves.
8. CSI : NY. Another thrilling finale. Not as good as last season's finale but still thrilling nevertheless. I just knew that Casey was going after Danny and I was so scared for the baby! But ... Danny and Lindsay ... I don't know, but I thought there was no chemistry between them. I didn't feel the love and I thought they were just doing it by rote. It felt so dry between them. My apologies to the Danny/Lindsay shippers but well, that's what I felt! The ending was a super cliffhanger though, with the shot ringing and all. I think, I hope that was Lindsay shooting at Casey. Unless they really wanted it to make Danny-get-shot two finales in a row!
7. The American Idol - I'm sorry to see Simon go. He was the life and breath of the show. I loved his acerbic remarks even though lately they sounded almost tame and repetitive. Yes, I guess it's time for him to go. And now if only they'd bring in NPH to replace him!
Btw, it must have been quite a bummer for the two finalists, Simon stealing the limelight from them. At least that's what it felt like to me!
8. Flash Forward - I'm sad to see this show go. And I was sad to see the one thing that I most hope would not happen, happened. I've been getting annoyed with Olivia and Mark lately but still I didn't want them to break-up. I had my hopes up with the second to last episode when it looked like the flash forwards wouldn't happen. I cheered when Olivia took her daughter away, hated it when she went back to Lloyd. I didn't mind the other FFs, well, maybe not the Tracy-lives one, but argh, I was hoping that Mark and Olivia would reunite!

Date: 2010-06-02 03:36 am (UTC)You have all those from your Indovision? Our Astro provides less than half of that!!

Date: 2010-06-02 03:48 am (UTC)Does Astro offer packages, too? But the content is not that much?
This is one of the reasons why it's just so hard to concentrate on what to see sometimes. *g*

Date: 2010-06-16 02:12 pm (UTC)I've seen quite a few NCIS episodes, though not all by a long stretch. This latest season has gotten tired and, aside from a couple of truly stellar episodes, the characters have become almost caricatures of themselves. But...earlier eps are a lot of fun.
If you want a taster, try the episode "SWAK." It's in the 2nd season, I believe, but it's a good one.

Date: 2010-06-02 01:41 am (UTC)Lee made very good song choices all the way through ( though I couldn't help thinking of Hallelujah as being Tim Urban's ). I think my problem with him is that he held back. Maybe it was just his shyness but still ...

Date: 2010-06-02 12:35 pm (UTC)And yeah, I think Lee's shyness is something he'll really have to work hard to overcome. He never did look comfortable. It'll be interesting to see how he seems on other venues. A lot of times you see an entirely different artist once they're away from the "fishbowl" of the judges. I saw Casey James on Ellen the week he was voted off and he was entirely different--singing *his* style of bluesy rock, relaxed and having a really good time and very entertaining.

Date: 2010-06-03 06:51 am (UTC)My TV "finales", ie the shows I watch on TV that now has summer break, are (in no specific order)
Amazing Race, ended a couple of weeks ago. (Old episodes) They might air more in the summer though as they have before. Will have to keep my eyes open.
House (season 5 but not up to the finale yet),
NCIS (season 7 but not up to the finale yet),
True Blood (season 2 I think)
A few left of 24 and I assume Bones(latest season I think) will end shortly too.
Hmmm. What else... All of the CSI's but I don't really follow them that closely.
And I watch Stargate Universe too. Oh, and I watch Legend of the Seeker, because of certain LOTR "related" reasons. Neither has ended here yet but I also assume they will end shortly.
NO reality shows! Don't really like them. (Except TAR!) Watch the Idols occasionally but not following. I don't see how it can survive without Simon. He makes it fun to watch.

Date: 2010-06-03 07:38 am (UTC)I'm hoping that Neil Patrick Harris will replace Simon. He was a guest judge in one of the auditions and he was FUN!
