I was bracing myself for the angst because [livejournal.com profile] rieyll said she cried but I didn't expect to cry right from the very beginning. I couldn't keep my tears in check when they showed Andy all ready to go to college with the toys in their basket and the intro ( which was awesome btw ) was them remembering before.

I cried buckets during the last part ( and a few times in between esp the part when Woody firmly declared that Andy was their boy and it was their job to be there for him) when Andy played with them for the last time, and Woody choosing to stay with his friends. Oh there were plenty of laughs too ( KEN!!!! Spanish!Buzz!!! ) but I cried most of the time.

I was so glad there was no toy death. I was so afraid that would happen and I couldn't bear for that to happen - from Woody to Slinky, Jessie, Buzz, Mr and Mrs Potatohead, Rex, everyone! And my kid covered his face with his hands during The Escape lol.

I went out of the theatre with my face all red and puffy and I think that was the first time I cried so much during an animation movie. Love it!

We saw it this weekend and oh gosh, I bawled like a baby at the end--kept thinking about my own daughter, who only just recently (like, Friday) gave away the last of her Barbie doll stuff. Jeez. I kept telling myself, "Stop it, it's just a freakin' cartoon..." To absolutely *no* avail. *sigh* Pixar just knows how to tug all the heartstrings, don't they?? Excellent movie and a nice exception to the general rule that 3rd sequels are usually beyond terrible.

I know, right? I was busy wiping my face trying to look presentable when I went out of the theatre but then I just didn't bother, the tears kept streaming down.

Ahaha, I'm kind of hoping that Andy would one day marry Bonnie and the gang would get to be played by his kids!

I ducked into the bathroom to get myself under control. *g* I saw several guys from our church there, so I asked them if they'd gotten choked up, and they sheepishly said they had. So I felt better!

Pixar makes the most amazing animated movies, full of heart and genuine emotion.

Ooh yes, very true. And I'm glad I didn't miss out on Toy Story 1 and 2 because it it probably wouldn't make that much of an impact on me if I hadn't seen its predecessors. Have you seen it, Julia?

Bring plenty of tissues if you go. You're going to need them :)
