Do you have any of those intro themes from TV shows that you simply can't get out of your head?

These are mine.

Old favourites:

And of course, this.

Honorary mentions :

Dallas Na, na na, na na, na na na ... omg I'm all nostalgic for that show now. I used to have such a girl crush on Victoria Principal. Pam! Bobby! Miss Ellie!

And this *is nostalgic all over again*

What're your favourite intro theme songs/musics? Do share!

I know exactky what you mean by the theme song staying in your head for hours. I donwload the episodes and sometimes I just play them just for the theme music.

hehe, I don't really like the Game of Thrones intro. I'm always anxious for it to get started, lol, so I feel like it goes on and on.

OH! The most ridiculous one of all that CRACKS ME UP big time is the Chuck Norris Texas Rangers theme song: It makes me think of er...well, Rangers and Lilybaggins living in Texas, etc. :D :D :D

Yeah, the GoT intro theme *is* long, and now the season 2 one is even longer because there're so many new characters lol. Heheh, I can't get enough of it though :D

Hee hee, Rangers and Lily, eh? And now I can't get the image of Lily wearing that Chuck Norris outfit with a gun on her hips out of my head :DD

The GoT intro is just stunning. Even watching the DVD special and the behind the scene in making it made me excited. *___*

I love the Suits one because it's so slick and sexy and another one of my favorites is True Blood. Oh, boy. ♥ I basically adore the company that goes behind most of the HBO series. They did the House title sequence, too.

I know, right? I bought the DVD too. That BTS scenes in which they were talking about the ravens and the dogs-direwolves cracked me up :))

I've never heard of the Suits song before this but I love it right from the beginning! I only watch True Blood here and there but I remember the intro. It was very nice.

Right now, it's this one (can't embed, unfortunately). I'm watching the entire series (I'll give you one guess why) and the song keeps on sticking in my head, which is sort of annoying because I don't really like the song.

Those are great themes you've posted. There are lots of great tv show themes. I must add that I really LOVE the SPN end titles. Well, this one. The other one is just spooky.

Hmmm, let me see ... Lauren Graham? Hee, kidding! He looked very young there, and he was a Dean!

The SPN eps that I downloaded didn't include the end music so I've quite forgotten how it sounded like. It's so good to hear it again!

That's true, he looked a lot younger there. In fact, that's the reason why for a long time I hesitated as to watching the entire show (I did watch season 5, where he's older), because I was afraid I'd feel like a total pervy cradle robber, but I bit the bullet and I found it wasn't so bad. Like, I figured he'd have a really "young" voice, you know? But when you hear his voice, even at 18, it's practically the same as it is now. Proof. See? And he doesn't look *that* young.

Oh, who am I kidding. I'm a total pervy cradle robber! And I like watching the kissing scenes, too. I'm SO going to hell in a handbasket.

As for the end titles. You should buy the SPN DVD box set! The theme is used all over the place there.

Lol I have no problem perving over Jensen in his earlier shows. I think Sweet Valley High was when he was at his youngest, 18. Though I believe he was older than Jared was in GG when he was doing DOOL - 19 maybe.

I watched young Jensen in youtube from time to time because Brock Kelly was so NOT how my teen!Dean looked like. There was a vid someone did, a crossover between GG and Dark Angel, and I, ahem, use that as my cross-reference when I'm reading teen!Winchesters :))

I have the DVD set for the first 4 seasons, haven't seen them for a while now.

Hee. For me it's Battlestar Galactica, reimagined series -- every time I hear the beat of taiko drum in space, my heart rate starts to pick up; Game of Throne; and Southland.

Oops, forgot to provide the links. Here they are:

Battlestar Galactica - here
(sorry again for the multiple edit. I feel I should point out the subtitle in this video was added by the video poster who claims the singing in the beginning is actually Gayatri Mantra in Sanskrit, and s/he gave the translation. I don't know if it is true, but I do know the show's creator Ron D. Moore is interested in Hinduism.)

Southland - here

Watching that BSG intro, ( and yes, the taiko drums are classy! ) I just have to go look up the original series, and my chest did that clenchy thing, so many memories there.

That Southland tune is very catchy. And yeah, GoT. Everytime I hear it, I get goosebumps.

A lot of my favorite themes go way back. Hawaii 5-O is probably my all time favorite TV show theme (sooooo glad they kept it for the new version). Batman (sooo cheesy!). The Monkees. The original Star Trek. Bonanza. The Young Riders. The original Battlestar Galactica. As for current shows... love Psych's theme, and usually The Big Bang Theory song gets stuck in my head. It's fun but not when you can't get it to SHUT UP! *g*

I don't really follow H5O ( saw a few eps here and there ) but I know the show theme. I still remember it from the original and it's one that you really, *really* cannot get out of your head.

I LOVE the original BSG ( Apollo is my one true love back then ) but I can't remember the intro music so I looked it up. Oh my ...

Do you watch 'Camelot'? Not really a fan but the intro theme is quite awesome. Such a pity that the show itself didn't live up to the epicness of its intro.

I don't get Starz with my television package so no, never have seen Camelot. I'll have to look up the theme on youtube.

Now i'm all nostalgic too :) So many memories. The best for me are The X-files intro music.
Of new series Suits has no competition :)
I also loved BSG intro but not the one the showed in US.

I squeed out loud ( very loud lol ) with that one SPN episode where they spoofed the X-Files intro. Hee hee, the S-Files!!

I can't wait to watch Suits season 2 and I love the song they used as the intro theme.

They have different intros for BSG Europe and BSG USA? I don't follow the remake but I do love the original *sighs re-Apollo*

Wow. :D I really don't know if I have favorite theme songs. Probably just The Greatest American Hero or maybe MacGyver! :D

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Oh I watched those two shows pretty avidly back then, though I had to google McGyver because I can't quite remember the intro theme. And for some reasons, I kept thinking of Peter McNicol as the main character in The Greatest American Hero instead of William Katt.

What about current TV shows, any favourite? You watched Camelot, didn't you? I thought the intro theme was pretty awesome.

Ah, I love TV intro credits! One of my favourites was probably Prison Break (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWyrsCYVbHs). During my obsession with that show, I actually got goosebumps every time I heard it! When Breakout Kings did a sorta crossover with Prison Break, and they used the score from PB, my husband and I actually squeed out loud! LOL

Another one that I will ALWAYS have soft spot for is the 90's X-Men cartoons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CFPb5wURB8). Pretty much ANYONE from my generation would remember it. That, and the Jem cartoon theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmYU4CeuZQ0). Would you believe that my husband actually downloaded the Jem theme song and he would randomly play it in the car? He's such a dork.

From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
Aahh, the cartoons. Those are good too. Doraemon's doesn't get stuck in your head, I take it? ;DD

Prison Break is one of the shows thatI wish I had watched back then. But I didn't download all that much back then and I was never able to catch the show on TV. That Wentworth Miller sure was a hunk! Did you see him when he guest-starred in House? And very nice opening theme there.

Date: 2012-05-17 03:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rieyll.livejournal.com
Oh, Prison Break was probably one of the first few shows that we downloaded! The husband (who was the boyfriend at the time, heh) had been gushing to me about this new show he downloaded and how awesome it was, and I was all like yeah ok, sounds cool, but it's not on TV. A couple of months later, it aired on AXN I think, and I was like, wait, this is the show! And since the husband had downloaded most of the season, he actually burned the episodes onto DVDs for me to watch!

And actually, the first time I saw Wentworth Miller was in a Mariah Carey music video!

Oh yes, X Files, Twin Peaks, Dallas and Little House on The Prairie! I also love the Beauty and the Beast theme (the one with Linda Hamilton), and Star Trek. I think of "Carry on My Wayward Son" as a theme song from SPN, even though we only hear it once a year!

Date: 2012-05-18 01:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] layne67.livejournal.com
That song will always be *the* song for our show, yeah?

One of my favourite shows now is Revenge and it doesn't have a theme song either. I like to think that they want to save time so that the story can be longer without the intro theme heheh.

I enjoyed watching Beauty and the Beast back then. And I love Linda Hamilton in The Terminator and Chuck.

Oooh, I like the Downton Abbey one and the Game of Thrones one very much, too! But Sherlock is my favourite - I actually have it as my ringtone on my mobile (and often let it ring a bit longer than necessary just to hear it... :DDDDD))

I want that text-incoming tone that Irene put into Sherlock's phone :DD

Any idea where I can get that?

Forgot to say that I totally dislike the Merlin intro - I do not like John Hurt much, especially after witnessing him on the set of Oxford Murders so just having to hear his voice over and over again is annoying...

Yeah, that dragon's voice is kind of annoying after a while.

I prefer Camelot's intro theme to Merlin, even though I don't like Camelot very much. I always thought that it was such a waste of an awesome theme for a mediocre show.
