Seeing double!

I was reading this fic which had Cate Blanchett in it, this fic, if you're curious, and I had trouble picturing her in my mind because Olivia Dunham's face kept replacing hers. They look very, very similar they could be sisters. Anna Torv could easily play young Galadriel in The Hobbit!

I can hardly tell which one is Cate Blanchett and which one is Olivia Dunham!


And also, watching J Lo's Q'Viva, I know now who it was that John Ross Ewing III reminded me. Mark Anthony! They should probably cast Mark Anthony as Sue Ellen's long lost younger brother as he'd be awesome as John Ross's uncle.

As for SPN 8x01, this is what I think is horribly wrong with it.

Dean's hair. And his oveall prettiness. Because seriously? He looked like he just stepped out of a hair and beauty salon instead of purgatory. Do they have a clause or something with his agent that they can't mess up with his hair? Why can't they mess up his looks, WHY???? Give him scruff, give him long, straggly hair. Give him pimples, for goodness sake. It's not that he'd look any less pretty. God.

Still love him though. Hmmmm, I'm wondering whether he has turned a bit evil now, what with him saying that he was not the same person anymore. I'd *like* that, very much.

IKR? They have the same wide mouth, same-shaped eyes ( not sure about the colour though ), same hair! Cate's nose is slightly mishappen and she's older of course, but other than that they could easily pass as sisters!

But it's CW, they don't even *apply* scars for hunters who fight every day and have serious wounds and you do expect them to *mess* with Dean's hair? ;)
Also we don't know physics of Purgatory and after the escape we saw Dean after 4 days so he could make a hair cut.

Messing with Dean 's hair would be tantamount to sacrilege, eh? *g*

But his hair was in place and neat and tidy right after he escaped from P! Well, he did have those soots(?) on his face but other than that, there was nothing to suggest that he had been to purgatory and back.

It was different back in season 4, because then it was only his soul that was in hell. Sam had, presumably, cleaned him up before he buried his brother, maybe even applied hair gel to Dean's hair (!) but now???? The angel wasn't even there to suggest that he was the one who kept Dean neat and tidy and pretty *grumbles*

I think we should accept the fact that short of, say, removing his nose from his face, NOTHING would make Jensen Ackles unattractive.

Also, it's obvious that his vamp boyfriend gave him a haircut while he was there. Meanwhile he wasn't around to give Sam a haircut.

Sam's girlfriend, the vet who didn't tie up her hair in clinic, probably gave him new shampoo or something, it's so bouncy!

oh they do look a lot alike! And I have this thing where I have a terrible time recognizing faces out of context, lol. I would probalby not be able to tell the difference if they were exchanged. :D

If PJ had it in mind to have a young Galadriel in The Hobbit, Anna Torv would be perfect! Though I guess he probably wouldn't need another actress to play young Galadriel, what with all the CGI technologiy. Have you seen the movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button? I tell you, both her and Brad Pitt looked absolutely believable as teens.

I agree it would be hard for Jensen not to look good. But I prefer seeing him with "Dean" hair and clean shaven. The way they dirtied him up with blood and mud was pretty too! I like hurt!Dean a little too much. ;)

I remember seeing a video of Jensen from the recent DallasCon in which he said they went back and forth on how Dean would look in purgatory, they finally settled on what we saw mainly because Jensen had already shaved off his hiatus beard and he was not really looking forward to put on fake beard all over his face.

Lol I thought Jensen during the cons looked a lot scruffier than back-from-purgatory Dean. Could it be they're so low-budget that they couldn't get the proper look for Dean? Or just plain lazy?

They could do it too, you know. Remember that finale when Dean was beaten half-to-death by Lucifer? Now *that* was good makeup, nothing pretty about Dean there, just him being all bruised and swollen and grittily and realistically ugly. And I've never love him more than I did at that time.

Mmmm, Jensen appeared scruffier in the Cons that held during hiatus. But by ComicCon at the end of August, he was already clean shaven with only a 5'oclock shadow. So I think right before Jensen headed back to Vancouver, he shaved off his beard (come to think of it, he only seems to sport those when he's with Danneel, er, I mean when he's not working.)

Based on what Jensen said in DallasCon (checkout this video @ YouTube, it's at the very beginning, but the whole vid is pretty entertaining), it seemed that Jensen was the one who was adverse to putting on makeup beard to make Dean look scruffy. Personally, in this instance, I think it fits with the storyline because IMO, purgatory is unlike any other place in a "real" realm where things grow realistically. It actually makes sense to me that time stops flowing down there, and all the creatures and beings retain the basic characteristics as when they first landed there.

Speaking of the bloody beaten Dean--yeah, I have an insane fondness of all forms of hurt!Dean. ;)

You're right about Dean's appearance. He should have been a lot more ragged, dirty and shaggy. The director slipped up there, I think. But SPN has never been known for realism. The guys have taken beatings that would put anybody in the hospital and come out with nothing more than a picturesque cut or scar. And once we saw Sam stitching up his own laceration while Dean waited for him to be finished so Sam could reduce his dislocated shoulder, but later on Dean wasn't even using a sling.

Slipped up or just plain lazy? In other shows, not necessarily big-budgetted ones, the actors mostly have the proper looks for their characters. I could understand Dean being conscious of how he looks, he's that kind of person, I could see him going for regular haircuts, shave every morning, apply the hairgel etc, but not when he just got out of purgatory!

I adore Cate Blanchett and now I adore Anna Torv too! Do you watch Fringe, Julia?

Maybe not so stupid with Sam. He *is* living the dometic life now ( or so it seems ) with a girl who seems to love her hair a lot ( have you seen a vet or a doctor at work who doesn't tie up her long, flowing hair? ). I could see her sharing tips with Sam on how to make his hair look as good as hers. And I concede, Sam's hair now looks a lot better than it did in the last 3 seasons.

But Dean? There was totally no explaination for it except that the makeup people etc got lazy.

That was exactly what I thought whenI first saw Dean - wow, nice haircut! But I like what he seems to be in the pilot. He seems to be ... darker(?) somewhat. Oooh I can't wait to see what the show has in store for us!
