May. 28th, 2005 12:26 pmI managed to persuade my husband to read
oselle‘s beautiful write-up on why she loves Elijah Wood. He’s always saying that he can’t understand why I have such a crush on him instead of, say, Tom Cruise. I didn’t have the words to explain it to him so her essay is just perfect. He read it, all 5 pages of them ( yup I printed them ). He said it ‘s very well-written but unfortunately he ended up being even more mystified why anyone could love a celebrity as much as that. He kind of looked at me in…wonder(?) after that , maybe thinking that his wife needs to see a therapist. Or maybe he was just wondering when is the next Arsenal match going to be. And speaking of football, I am mystified why anyone could stay up until 3 am to watch some football final on the telly, waking up all bleary-eyed for work the next day. It’s been one final after another for the past one month, so much so that I’m seriously thinking of buying another TV. But I digress.
Yesterday I went to the mall to buy The Stone Roses cd. I was really looking forward to listening to the songs in their first album, the one that
oselle said that Elijah listened to so often in his trailer during the filming of LOTR. Alas not only they did not have it, they didn’t even know the group! One sales assistant even politely asked me whether it’s actually The Rolling Stones that I wanted. Guh. Guess I’ll have to go to more music stores which are not exactly my favourite place to be in. Unlike bookstores speaking of which, I bought a book by Ken Follett yesterday not realizing that I’ve already bought the same book months ago which is yet still unread. That’s fanfics and lj for me!

Working implies hardship to a certain extent and I think he enjoyed his time as a child actor. IMO almost all the child actors that continue on to be adult actors have this quality, the old soul in the young body - Drew Barrymore is one.
BTW do you still have the essay in your word.doc or something and if so can you e-mail it to me? I've deleted mine.
