*grins*
Nah, just kidding. But one of the witches, the nice one. Doesn't she remind you of Paige, one of the sisters in Charmed? And the language that they used? Was that Latin? It really, really made me think of the Black Speech of Mordor. Fairly raised the hair at the back of my neck, listening to that *shivers*
But seriously, I love that episode. It's the first episode of this season that ( for me ) really kicked ass and did not leave me feeling -- flat. Oh there were a few things here and there that I didn't like. I hated it when Ruby came in to save the boys from the demon-witch, with the boys helplessly stuck to the wall ( again ). The witch summed it well when she said 'You really telling me you threw your chips in with Abbott and Costello here?", and that's just not right.
*is frustrated*
But other than that, there's really nothing that I actually dislike about the episode. I can't comment much about Ruby because except for a few episodes here and there, I didn'tt really watch Season 3, so I don't really know much about the demons and Sam's destiny.
One thing, more than one person have expressed their frustrations on Sam's "acceptance" of Dean's fate, that Sam has given up in trying to save Dean. But really, that wasn't my impression at all. I thought Sam was, in some way or other, trying to provoke Dean, he wanted to make Dean feel guilty. He didn't want Dean to stop him from trying to save his brother. That was my impression anyway, from the way Sam was talking to Dean in that motel room, just before Dean started to thrash in agony ( and omg how awesome was that!! ). And well, this is Sam we're talking about here. The Sam that we know does NOT give up, and certainly not where Dean is concerned. Sam giving up on Dean is a serious, serious breach of character. It's almost like having Snape as the bad guy, and no, I haven't finished that book yet so don't say anything yeah?
Love ALL of Dean-speak in this episode. And Sam driving the Impala turned my knees into jelly, that it did.
Lastly, two of my favourite SamandDean moments.

God I love those boys.

And if you haven't done
pheebs1's poll, you should do so now because it's totally made of win!
ETA : And I think Ruby was stringing both Sam and Dean.

Date: 2008-02-03 09:58 pm (UTC)uncomfortable, awkward even. Especially the boys relationship.
Ahh, that's the Mulder/Scully-ish UST rearing its head. Hee.
But I think that's probably due to the whole Dean's going to hell, that Dean couldn't do much about it without Sam dropping dead. And Sam maybe finally realizing the extent of Dean's love for him, perhaps? That he'd literally go to hell for him? And then there's the big question mark about him leading an army of demons and all. Saying that they have too much on their plates right now would be an understatement!
But speaking of Mulder and Scully, they finally got together, didn't they? :DD

Date: 2008-02-04 12:32 pm (UTC)Oh yes! Very Mulder and Scully-ish! Dude, don't laugh at me but I really think that Kripke will find a way at the very last episode to give the fangirls what they want. I fully belief he loves the wincest and totally gets what we get about the boys. And somehow he will hint or leave it wonderfully open ended or open to interpretation - just for us. Coz he can't actually get them together, being the CW and all, but he can do that!

A chaste, brotherly kiss at the very least *hyperventilates*
