I saw 'Eragon' last week. And my first impression was it was way, way too short. Not short in the way LOTR's three hours simply flew but short as in well, short! At first I thought they were combining the 2nd story into the 1st one because when the story was coming to its end, I glanced at my watch and rather to my surprise not even an hour and a half had passed and I was like, that's it? So yeah, it was a bit like an incomplete meal for me.

The first three-quarter of the story was good. I really, really love the actor who played Eragon ( pronounced in exactly the same way as 'Aragorn' ). Hard to believe that he has never acted before. And I hope his cousin Roran will make a re-appearance in the sequel. The two of them tumbling about in the bedroom was too good to be true!

Has booked my tickets to watch 'Eragon' this coming Saturday. I'm really looking forward to watching it. I like the book and I love watching movie adaptations of books that I enjoy reading ( not the other way round though, I can never thoroughly get into books that have been made into movies ). To me it's always exciting to see how the movie differs or or is similar to the version in my head. Which IMO is one of the many reasons why the LOTR trilogy was so successful. PJ's version of it was in so many ways similar to what most people had in their mind! His Aragorn is my Aragorn, his four hobbits are my hobbits, his Gandalf, Saruman etc etc.

So, yes, I can't wait to see Aragorn 'Eragon'. I wonder whether the movie will make me think of LOTR the way the book did. 'Eragon' the book is literally peppered with LOTR-moments ( I believe the author who wrote the book when he was 15 is an ardent fan of LOTR ). Heh, there's even an Elf Princess called Arwen Arya in the book!

I'm also a fan of Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich. Brilliant actors, both of them. There's no doubt in my mind that these two will play the parts of Eragon's mentor and enemy, respectively, to perfection.

And, there is this one character in the book that, you know, tickles my slashy self. I wonder whether the movie version will do same :D
